I will be surprised if they bring more then current used prices. I don't feel they are that rare. They are still new cars. I guess if some law changes and they never make these engines again and stop making higher horse power cars.

I bought mine to race... never thought about resell value.

Agreed. Bought mine to have fun, not for resale... was joking about 50x MSRP, but these guys know a thing or two about collectibles and the Z is on their list....https://www.hagerty.com/corporate/press/press/2015/02/24/2015-hot-list

I do not have the time or patience to "collect" cars. I thought I did and purchased a 1987 Buick Grand National. It currently has 22K original miles, I have all original maintenance items, the original tires were just removed 3 years ago for safety reasons (hard as hockey pucks) but I still have them, basically 99% unmolested. with window sticker and all the documents and books. It is by far the most painful owner experience....I cant modify it, I don't drive it, it will only appreciate if I let it sit for some time. I am not a car collector, I am a driver.....

SO......FOR SALE: 1987 Buick Regal Grand National, PM me

A great choice for one to "collect" though! I always loved those cars, especially the GNX.

It is a COPO with a vin. it is no a GM vin, it is a builder vin.
Im not sure why this is so amazing. He found a state that did an inspection on the car and gave him a vin just like an custom car builder can get. Yes it is hard but not impossible.

Here is the article:

Damn... I'd have to take her out every now and then. It's such a cool car...can't say that about too many cars from that era.

Much like boats, 98% of all cars are money pits unfortunately.
