I too live in Phoenix and I completely agree with you. Have you tried any other tires other than the Goodyear in Phx?

My bfg comp2 s. came straight from the Michelin factory..been on for about a week. Very pleased with the ride quality! Much less road noise. Great off the line great feel on launch. cornering is not quite as good as the f1s but I'd say this is my go to tire for November till April... also great performance in the rain. We've had a little bit of cold, rain, etc all last week...

Michelin has owned the BFG brand for 20+ years. Michelin bought BFG/Uniroyal way back.

Do you 305s in the back, if so do you think that's why they're not as good cornering?

I did do 305 but for me it's more the feel of the compound. The bfg feels much softer. It's much more quiet and rides better. But lost the go kart like feel of the f1s . I don't notice the push of the 305 at spirited street pace. Maybe at a track . I expected for it to be different as the 1le was engineered to use the f1s. It's not bad...just different. No way any all season tire is going to turn like the f1s.

I ran 3 sets of F1s on my 1LE on the street and track and they are great tires about 60+ degrees and on track at temp and downright deadly if pushed when cold.

My 1LE currently is currently being turned from 11 down to 10 and will not be a track car anymore at all, so I ordered the Michelin Pilot AS-3 as I want to drive it more often and further distances in the spring summer and fall.....I have to disagree with Pilot AS-3 being not so good as I have driven them on track (students car) in the summer and they work very well outside of the intended purpose if needed. There is nothing on the street that would require a stickier tire.

I recently put BFG Comp 2's on in lieu of my summer Goodyear / Winter Michelin Sport Alpin seasonal swap. They are great daily drivers, but not as grippy in the warm summer months, and now am not sure I'll have nearly the same level of confidence in the winter. Luckily I have a beater SUV if the weather gets too bad. If you absolutely don't have to rely on your 1LE in severe winter driving, the BFGs should be a great, affordable option for you.

I only got 10k miles out of my rear AS/3...

G2 are an absolute beast, but they suck in cold temp and in rain. They wear out fast too. I loved em though, beast on track.

I'd try the G comp sport or the new Firestone Firehawk 500 or the new mickey thompson street tires. Regular PSS are the hot ticket for all around performance&good durability and occasional track they say.

Going back to G2 next set and gonna do some crazy cornering!!

I'd say unless you're good friends with the local sheriff the comp 2 is pretty darn good. How fast can you get away with on the street? I will however go back to the f1s over 60f. Not my dd. So if it rains I leave it at home...

You don't have to be driving that hard.

On the street, it's things like steering feel and cornering response below about half a lateral g that matter rather than the last couple tenths of a lateral g in ultimate capability and behavior way up there. This is where many tires come up short as far as providing a satisfying drive experience in a car as focused as a 1LE is concerned.

I can't reasonably say anything either way with respect to the Comp 2, as I have no experience driving anything fitted with them.
