2013 2ss 1le all around brake job
So are you guys replacing the the front or rear caliper bolts when doing a brake job... or are they just trying to nickel and dime me out of a few more dollars?

If you take the calipers off for any reason, the factory bolts are supposed to be a one time torque bolt and a new one used back in its place. But just to change the pads, there should be no reason to unbolt the caliper. I know the SS you don't and I don't think the 1 LEs are any different in actual manufactured style. Might have to wait for a 1 LE guy to confirm this.

SS and 1LE brakes are the same. We just have nice painted calipers. You don't have to replace them. Many members on here get away with using them once again. I replaced mine due to them being TTY bolts. I wanted to be safe. I say replace them just because you are already spending about 800 for pads and rotors.....What's another 20 bucks or so.

The official answer is they are a 1 time use TTY bolt and should be replaced.
I have reused the bolts numerous times, used red Loctite and torqued to 90lb/ft and then driven on track with DTC-70 front pads. NOW my brakes get looked over on a track day more often that most people change radio stations so I am comfortable doing so...... If you are doing a once every 30K+ mile brake rotor change I would replace the bolts as it is piece of mind. Confirmed the SS and SS/1LE complete brake systems are identical with the exception of the flashy red calipers we got. -Matt
