I'll tell you from my experience there isn't an easy answer. On one hand kids put a dent in your income and I'm glad I purchased before I had kids so it wasn't an expense issue. It's hard to add that kind of expense as kids get older. But on the other hand I rarely have time to drive my car a few years down the road. I maybe put 1000 miles on my car in the last 2 years. Obviously trying to imagine your days before kids is tough but if you can find time in your schedule to drive it then get it before having kids imo.... but don't expect any carseats to fit in it.

Thanks for all of the responses so far guys, my wife has an X5, so we should be ok there. I still think I'll be in big trouble if an infant seat doesn't fit in the one 1LE, haha.
My wife is only about 5 feet 2 inches, and I'm about 5 feet 10 inches. I'm wondering if I can fit an infant car seat behind the passenger seat, rear facing, then move the seat up the way with enough room for my wife to sit. Any pictures anyone? |

I fit a childseat in my back seat no problems, just buy one to leave in the back and then you don't have the hassle

Dont do it. I have 2 daughters and will say that the carrier is a pain to get in there and when they are out of the carrier and you have to crawl back there every time to buckle and unbuckle them...its a pain in the ass. Older kids that can hop themselves into a booster and buckle themselves are ok. My kid is only in the backseat when we goto a cruise night since my 1le is a second car and a garage queen. I would never have that car as my primary with a kid

I’d be concerned about the harsh suspension over bumps. (Since you are not supposed to shake babies.) In the area where I drive, I'd say it's unacceptable, definitely would not risk it. From the roominess standpoint, Camaro is just fine.

Here's a link with many pictures of car seats in Camaros.
(there are pics of other cars in there, too, so you'll have to wade thru them) https://www.google.com/search?q=rear...W2L4pkrhZzM%3A

why don't you just take a car seat to the dealer and see if it fits to your liking?

I gave up my muscle car to get a 4 door sporty sedan and while it was still fun (even tracked it a couple times) and convenient (4 doors) I longed to be back into something more exciting so ended up with the 1le. No regrets here and my son loves going for rides in daddies camaro. Last edited by 1leWorksforMe; 01-21-2016 at 04:19 PM. |

Get one now when you can and deal with it when you need to. Once the kid gets sports aged you'll probably be doomed to SUV or mini-van hell.

I put my kids car seat in the back once. I had to get on my knees or basically get in the back to buckle his seat. I've never put it back in. When he is in a booster I will let him ride back there.
My Camaro is not my DD. If I have to take him or pick him up I take my truck. |

We have an X3 and my car and no issues other than fitting the dog and stroller/baby stuff at the same time. You should be fine!

my 2 cents is that my wife has an Equinox and I have the 1LE. If for any reason I need to get another car then I will do it. Because for me I don't like food in my car. It is such a hassle to clean in the camaro because everything is so cramped. and yes you can have 4 people in the car but do you really want to ?
This car basically better for just two people. If I were you I would get a beater sedan for the family nothing too expensive but something reliable. And keep the 1LE for you. Because the 6th Gen doesn't look like it will have a 1LE anytime soon.
