There are some smaller shops that put out cam packages that do well. I did a lot of reading and looked at a lot of dyno curves and selected a cam that gave me the power band I wanted and the drivability I wanted. In the end I ended up with an HPE cam, Patriot springs, Fast intake, ARH headers, and a Corsa catback.
Have you used anyone local? I am looking to research some shops here.

I agree with others in terms of this valvetrain kit. Do the comprehensive option otherwise leave it (valvetrain) alone it's already tuned up a good amount.

The SLP rockers are similar to the stock ones, i.e. they are roller fulcrum only, but not roller trunion. YellaTerra makes some full-roller rockers, but the stock valvetrain is lighter and plenty stout enough to handle mild-moderate cams. Since the SLP rockers are about the same price as a new cam, you're better off getting the camshaft and leaving that $700 to go towards something else.

The new FAST LSX 102mm intake won't be out until April or May.

Not exactly what I meant. If you're doing cam only, great. If you're doing cam now, and want to do heads, exhaust and intake next year, buy a cam that works with the combination.

Plan ahead, and get parts known to work well together, no matter where you get them.

lol Actually what you said was if you cannot afford to get them all at once then just save. The same logic still applies. You will get better results for less $$ going the custom route.

As for local Atlanta shops. I have uses several. Tristart was good but they closed. The only two left are Vengance (in Cumming) and MTI. I have no personal experience with MTI but they have a great rep and are nice guy's to talk to. I wouldnt' hesitate to use them.

I have personally delt with Vengance several times. They have always done good work for me and I typically let them do my dyno tunes. There are some people out there who do not like them and seem to have a hard time getting along with them. I can say they do know F-bodies better than anyone (they are formerly known as GMMG).

I will be more than likely going with AI for my heads/cam work.

Let me know I don't live to far from there. Once I finally get my insurance nightmare settled they'll have my next car to tune as well. I actually totaled the Goat less than a mile from thier shop.
