That was actually a really good race considering the well over priced GT500. If you were to put $13,000 in that camaro it would be a different story

The GT500 stomps pony cars below its price range. It's beaten by performance cars in its price range. The topic's come up over and over and over and over and over and over and...

Stock GT500 is $47K @ 540 hp @ 6000 rpm
Stock Camaro 2SS is $34k @ 426 @ 5900 rpm 13k difference for 114 HP. Lets throw a 7k ProCharger supercharger into that SS, and rerun the race. The Cam will have ~ 580 HP, for less $$ than the GT, and will blow its socks off. Toss on a new exhaust system for another 4k, and you're still ~2K under the GT500 in cost, with almost 100 HP more than the GT500. Its all about relativity. Yeah, the original match up with the Mustang GT wasn't really far engine wise, but cost wise, it was an equal match up. Even out the cost differences between a super charged/decked out SS and a GT500, and we'd be looking at another from the 'Stang peoples. |

Also I keep wondering where are these 34k camaro's at...because even people in the L99 issues threads are saying they paid over 40k for their car...... And lets not forget the NEW AND IMPROVE popcorn thread about the QC issues....Man talking about turning on your own.... Sorry guys I had to poke a little fun. BTW, we keep beating this dead horse, and I keep seeing "Drop a S/C in a Camaro..." Well I have droped a S/C in my 25K GT and I will and have SPANK the hell out of a Camaro for less money than a new Camaro...... So.............. K sa ra sa ra ? |

Stock Camaro 2SS is $34k @ 426 @ 5900 rpm WITHOUT forged block, it appears a wonky manual tranny, IRS, Brembo brakes(complete with weights ??) and some more QC issues its seems. Fixed that for ya Haha I am kidding...just poking and getting in meh cheap shots on you guys before the rabbid GM guys get in here....But the forge part is true. |

Wow guess you never heard of tax, license and all the other fees. No camaro 2SS will be 34k exactly neither would a 47k GT500 be that exactly, you would be at 50k by the time its all done. duhhhhhhhhhhh
