High Ambient Temperatures (NV, AZ, FL) - Overheating?
Thinking of picking up a Z... however, I live in NV where the ambient temperatures easily hit 115F. Has anyone seen overheating issues in normal / spirited driving in these states during the peak summer temps?

I live in Vegas and I've had absolutely no issues with my ZL1 here in the peak of the summer heat.

Driven in bumper to bumper traffic here on the freeway in Los Angeles with the A/C on and no overheating. For the record the temp was 102 so the road surface was even more. They definitely researched and solved and cooling issues prior to release.

Definitely not like the "OLD" Muscle car day's where you kept one eye on the Temp gauge as the car was building heat in any traffic......LOL.......That was then, and this is now..........and Now is a lot better!!!!

Mine overheated twice in the first two weeks. Took it to the dealership and the fans were not plugged to the harness. Never an issue since.

Only on the road racing tracks running wide open for lap after lap in 100+ degree temps with 750+ whp. If you don't modify it, it won't overheat. Even if you do you can keep the heat in check with the right cooling system mods, I'm still finding the balance.

Well, pretty much the first mod to put on the car is a pulley upgrade because GM was pretty conservative in the stock blower speed. It really depends on how much boost you want to run. If you turn up the boost you can get the blower spinning over 20,000 rpm and that is where the heat comes from. If you don't change blower pulleys there is little heat problems.
The only time I got my engine coolant hot and oil temps hot was well after the blower had been boiling coolant for 5 or 6 minutes. In high stress applications with increased blower speeds the car needs a dedicated reservoir for supercharger coolant. I now have about a 3 gallon reservoir mounted in the trunk. If you don't get too crazy the rotofab or d3 small underhood tanks should work fine. Changing the heat exchanger in the grill will help also.

Only time I saw heat soak (Car was running on the hot side but not boiling over) was in stop-n-go traffic (Accident had happened) and the only issue was..... The AC was blowing warm air, but went cold as soon as I got good air flow through the nose and the car cooled off also. No issues since that one hot day..... However, I haven't been caught in traffic behind an accident in a while either.
