Is it my imagination or is the aluminum hood and trunk more susceptible to dings from stuff like nickle sized hail? Mine got marked up pretty bad and my old '94 F150 Pickup doesn't have a dent on it.

This is what I try to do.

Then they go and post that they intentionally parked by themselves and some smuck in a Camaro came and parked next to them!

My SS is coming up on a year old, zero door dings but then again I park where other cars can't ding me.

94 vs 2011 Duh. I had a 77 ford pickup and we used to stand and sit on the hood to watch fireworks. Try that on any new car.

All we can do is pray when we park, mine is 6 months old, (knock on wood) none yet. One small rock chip on the top nose piece. I had a Monte Carlo prior to this, for 6 years, not a single ding. I sure hope my luck holds up with this one too. I understand the passion for these cars. But for many people, a car is transportation, and those are the ones we need to stay away from. Maybe we could have them all put bumper stickers on that stated such. :-)

Soft paint, soft metal, prone to rock chips, attracts jealous punks...yep...a ding magnet for sure.

Garage at home. Garage at work. Will walk a mile from the furthest parking space at the mall. Will park on the top level at a municipal garage.

Can't have it any other way. I learned that people DON'T apologize when they ding you.
