V6'ers do u regret not getting the V8?

Hey there c5 , so idk if it's because everyones always asking "is it a v8?" or the fact that people think cuz it's a v6 it'll get "spanked"which I know is pure bs cuz I know the v6 can take out alot of cars out there BUT..... I have been thinking about the v8 a lot, is this normal? Is it because it's a step up from the v6 and as humans we always want the next best thing?

Post comments on if you regret you choice on the v6 or if u have plans on switching it for the v8 or your honest reason why you didn't purchase the v8. In my case the reason I went with the camaro is because of the synergy green if it wasn't for that I'd probably be in a challenger right now. And of course the price on the v8 I prob wouldn't have been able to afford at this time. But I do feel confident in saying that when I do buy a new camaro it will be a v8

please share your thoughts

Thanks

edit:Just to clarify I have no problem with my v6 I love it to death and I'm not turned off by it in anyway!! I just wanted to know the what the general emotion was from the v6'ers( so far so good) Keep posting your comments

No, for multiple reasons:

Insurance prices raised by $230/mo for me.
Gas would most likely increase by $5-$10 a week.

I couldn't justify that in my budget, I still have other hobbies! I wanted the looks and the appeal, and the 312/278 numbers were great enough for me, having come from 3 consecutive sub-160 powered sedans. It has more than enough kick-butt for me.

By the way, chaps, let's not turn it into another one of "THOSE" threads with this topic, I know how "festive" they can get once a few of the SSers get ahold of it.

It is only human to think of the next best thing, but then, where would it end? Why settle for a V8? Get the Viper's V10, or a European V12. Or a W16. There's always "upgrade-itis."

PS - I drive around a lot, don't think I've seen your Synergy around yet here in the 305...

well there's a lot of people out there i'm sure of that buy V6's not just because they can't afford the V8. maybe for practical reasons due to current personal finances, etc. whatever the case maybe, i never look at a V6 car and think that person has "buyer's remorse" and wishes they had the bigger engine. the Camaro is a nice car period, no matter what engine size.

I ordered mine in a V6 the second day of availability. Did not think for me the cost justified the extra cost for my daily driver. I drive at work 12+ hours in a V8 "interceptor"...This camaro engine is plenty fast enough for me. I have yet to use all the power I have in this engine , let alone a 400+ hp one. I'm totally satisfied. I'm happy for the V8 guys too.No buyers remorse

One of each here, and enjoy driving both ... But there is a big difference in power between them ...

Reasons for getting my 1LT/RS:
- ---------------------------- -
- Ideal for Daily Driving,
- Lots of HP for the V6,
- Piece of Mind,
- Price difference.

I had a Corvette C6 2007 (V8), and i tell you i suffered for 1yr and half tuning it and maintaining it EVERY week... i had no time as im a full-time employee.

The 2010 CAMARO "V6" is just the best choice i've made! I love it!
My other 18 friends all have the V8 2010 Camaros and believe me i dont think twice, cus this is what i want.

If you're gonna listen to others, you WILL be uncomfortable.

ENJOY THE V6 MY FRIEND

I was one that purchased a 2LT/RS SIM and loved it and was planning on driving it daily but when i changed the exhaust ( magnaflow axle back ) the drone and sound of the v6 wore on me and plus i have two 69 Camaros that are in the process of restoration so i wanted something in a v8 so i ordered my 2SS/RS IOM on Sept. 24 and picked up Nov. 12. So i guess i would fall in the catagory of regretting not getting the v8 of which i do not drive daily...picked up a Kia Rio for the back and forth.

No regrets. In a few years, if I have the means, I wouldn't mind picking up a V8 as a track car. Probably pick up a used one at that point. But I plan on keeping the V6 for a looooooooooooooong time.

My car turns 1 yr old this week. No regrets here. The Camaro is our 3rd car so it only gets driven 3-4 days a week. But when we do drive it, it's a pleasure all around. Plenty of pep and good MPG's. Couldn't ask for more. Not to mention the "rock star" status we've had in this car the first year of ownership.

At times, yes. I ordered my 2LT to be my daily driver and don't regret ordering for that purpose and it has everything that I wanted. When the Z28 comes out, I may consider upgrading or will be like SlingShot and have two of them.

No buyers remorse here at all. Had mine 10 months and 12k miles. I bought it for a DD and that's what it is, 22-23 mpg ave.

You need to buy the car that YOU want whether it be a V6 or V8. Don't submit to peer pressure. If you want a V8, that's fine.....but don't buy the V8 just because of what others will think. Make yourself happy, that's all that matters. This is one nice car, no matter what's under the hood.
