Its not in the State Farm tables yet, I checked last week.

No question the Vette is a great car and great buy. I have three daughters which means I am a four seat guy for years to come.

[QUOTE=nhra95;4030668]What's going to happen when the Shelby 650 hp.. 3800 lb Mustang comes out about the same time? I think this Mustang will do some damage. [/QUOTE
How much damage did the 540HP Shelby do to the SS Camaro sales?

One would assume little or none considering the difference in price points.

Camaro out sold Mustang, without having a convertible or ZL1 to compete against theres so I think your might wantto reconsider the "not much" statement

Nope, I'll stand by the statement. Given it's entry-level price point compared to the SS Camaro, I'm sure the 540hp GT500 had little or no effect at all on Camaro SS sales, let alone sales of all Camaro trim levels. Maybe I'm just missing the point you're trying to make?

trading GGT for REALLY COOL GOODIES

Sure GM is seeing great sales numbers right now. So what do they do? Do whatever they want knowing we as Camaro junkies will buy whatever they sell us. This is a ZL-1 dammit.
Top dog on the food chain for Camaro's and you get out done by a 650 Ford, really????????? On release? I get it, its a one upmanship. This is RELEASE!!! This isnt second year where they caught up.

GM, do yourself a favor and stop digging a bigger hole before you release the car.
Remove the hood and shocks, drop it 6K and add rally stripes and call it a Z/28 and get to work on a REAL ZL-1 worthy of the name.

I really wanted a ZL-1 too but I'm crushed...:(

Noodle on this for a second...

Whose to say GM didn't know the GT650 was coming out? Maybe this was their attempt to rush the ZL1 out to semi counter what Ford was going to do yesterday?

This might explain a 1/2 year production run and a portly ZL1 because there wasn't time to put in the "really cool" ( more carbon fiber, and lighter alloys, magnesium) bits. Was it a coincidence of the timing of the GM & Ford announcements, I think not! I for one would rather spend my GGT money on cooler stuff in the car rather then get nothing for my money. $2600 divided by 270 lbs (delta between GT 650 & ZL1 and charing customers GGT and not) a little shy of $10 a pound! With a little extra time and the equivalent of the GGT money do you think GM could have dropped the weight and not subjected buyers to GGT? Or will the future models have the "cool stuff" added and see GM trade the GGT for higher MSRP for the added goodies they may even get an award or two for going GREEN on a ZL1 ?

I'd feel a whole lot better about getting and paying for extra "goodies" rather then blow cash/GGT on nothing in return

Who still has an interest and stake hold in GM, oh yeah the guys getting the GGT funds... hummm
