Well the V6 is almost identical.... SS is like 20-30$ more per/month

Buy a Camaro, get a set of snow tires, practice downshifting for controlled deceleration instead of relying on your brakes all the time. You'll do fine.

If you really wanted the WRX you would have got it. You're here now to make us talk you out of it.

The year is 2011, you are driving your Subaru shopping cart to the movies with your girl. A 5th gen Camaro passes you going the other way. As you notice your girl watching it go in the rearview, you are forced to slap yourself... again.

Yeah... you know what car you're gonna get.

If I could afford the SS this would be true... But the 2009 WRX would spank the V6 2010 Camaro so I probably wouldn't be thinking that lol.. But I see your point

The Camaros are showing up in less than 10 weeks if you find a dealer with allocation, go ahead and reorder. Call some dealerships within your "reasonable" range and see if they have an LT in stock, I know there are 3 1LTs available in my area, and this town is just a very small step up from Po-dunk.

Now were talking.... If only I could be lucky enough to find a 1LT M6 in stock at a somewhat local dealership for MSRP.

Maybe you should take a road trip. I know the dealer I ordered from has 2 SIM 1LTS and a Black LT (dont know which model, it just came in today and he said V6) all for sale at MSRP. And I know there have to be some a lot closer to you.

I guess the question would be have you already test driven an LT? If so, would it be a big deal to drive a few hundred miles to get it? Most people I know could really use 2-3 days off work and a road trip with a nice car

Obviously the styling doesn't live up to the 2010 Camaro but as a daily driver I liked the fact of having AWD for the winter and the performance isn't too shabby either with 0-60 clocking in at 4.8 and 1/4 at 13.5. It was a very comfortable drive and it basically can be two cars in one if you shift early you don't even notice it was a high performance vehicle and you get decent mileage but if you get on it pulls nice all the way to redline.

Unfortunately money is an issue for me right now and I wanted a SS but the insurance prices are insane here in MD even being 27 with a clean driving record. The 0% APR on the Subaru is looking so tempting to me right now I am going to go crazy making this decision.

Preparing for flaming don't be too harsh LOL
I'm a chick...I love cars (mainly muscle cars). I do not like the ricers - I don't care if they are fast. They look ugly and sound like my weed eater. Get the Camaro. I wouldn't - and don't - give the Subaru a second glance. If you have good credit you can get decent financing on the Camaro. Maybe not through GMAC, but if you belong to a credit union you can get as low as 4.5 or 5. If you open a new account at some banks they give you a better rate. Trust us...get the Camaro. You will not regret it. If you buy the Subaru, I think you will regret it in the long run. Just my opinion...trying not to be too harsh or judgemental here!

Dude, do what I did and get an old Jeep or something for the bad weather, hauling stuff, camping etc. Then drive the camaro around town and look like a freakin' star

all right this is the one and only time im gonna say this......take it from someone who has been around this block before.....i had a 2001 ws6 transam m6 to that i absolutely loved...... i got rid of it for a 2008 civic si and told myself well its a new fwd car that is good in the winter and its peppy! I now have a 2ss/rs on order because "peppy" does not cut it anymore, winter isnt that bad (Chicago), nothing replaces HORSEPOWER, and you cant make your 4 cylinder sound like a v8. Thankyou.

I traded a "wingless" 2007 sti for my camaro.
I miss it everyday.
I was hooked the first time I drove an impreza.
GM has never built a car that feels like that.
If you want attention get the camaro.
If you want to enjoy the drive in the mountains / twistys, get the impreza.
Do yourself a favor though, get the STI or the SS, whatever it takes
Living in the midwest now, the camaro makes more sense. There's not a curved road within 1000 miles. I also really wanted open headers on a v8. If I move back to the mountains, I'm buying the first 2007 sti Ltd I can find. I don't care what people think of the way it looks. My SS still isn't as fast as that thing was.

Consider buying a 2007, alot changed in 2008, most of it wasn't good.
Save 10 grand, get a Cobb exhaust & tune, then dust SS's all day long.
I owned 3 imprezas from 2001 - 2009, NEVER had to get service at the dealership, warranty or otherwise. They're bombproof.
Enjoy the dilema.

Seems like a funny thing to say on a Camaro forum.

Thanks Bob.... I guess you didn't notice how they changed everything in 09 about the standard WRX? Heard nothing but good things you should check it out on Nasioc and tell me what ya think...I wanted a STi but I was not looking forward to the noisy cabin.

Are you nuts? I am in PA and I only need to worry about snow about 2 or 3 times a year for a day or two each time it snows. I am not going to let 6 days of snow keep me from a car like this. I had 3 other Camaros and they were fine in the snow as long as you know how to drive them. Don't let five days of weather change your mind about this one.
