Bad Knock Sensor

Today I got a CEL while driving home from work. Also, the rpm and sound of the engine would vary, almost surging. IT's an L99 and was like the AFM kicking on and off. When I got home and checked the code it was P0327. Low voltage on Bank 1 knock sensor.

So, is this a DIY job? Where are the knock sensor on the L99? I read that for some Chevy engines you have to remove the intake manifold. If thats the case I'll take it to the dealer, as much as I hate to.

Any words of wisdom?

Well, I took the Camaro to the dealer. Then they called and said that my headers burned the wires to the knock sensor and it wouldn't be covered under warranty. I gave them the go ahead. No arguement from me. If it was my aftermarket headers, then its not Chevy's fault.

The lesson learned is that when you put on headers make sure you have all wires and such tied back and away from the heat.

Glad it was resolved easily and glad to see you took ownership of the problem.

Good man. It is good that it was an easy find and fix.
