I would recommend that you ZL-1 guys get copies of the GM lifting procedure for your cars and make sure your shops are very clear on it by giving them a copy, talking to your service managers about how deviating from that GM procedure is unacceptable, and that you will be checking for damage with them after each service. Protect your cars- you paid good money for that ZL-1- protect it
Do you know where to obtain a copy of the GM lifting procedure for the ZL1?

That's why we make jack pads to be used on the lift or floor jack. The car is made to be lifted at he four points on the pinch weld.

The Camaro including the ZL1 is made to be picked up by the pinch weld, there are 3 inch cut outs in the black lower rocker panel.

The magnetic jack ads work great with a floor jack also.

This is a great post to learn from. Thanks for sharing.

Now a dumb question: If I use the blocks from ZL1addons to lift the car, where do I put the jack stands? I don't get under a car unless it it safely supported by jack stands. So, there must be another place under the car once you have lifted it with a floor jack, right?

I haven't been under there yet, so I'm wondering how to do it safely and without scratching or damaging something. (And fluid changes are coming next month.) I want to do this myself as with all my other cars.

The lift blocks would be ok to use for a shop lift? I bought these just in case I would need them. I am anal with lifts because often times mechanics are lazy with placing the lift arms. I have had my share of mishaps with poorly placed lift arms.

I can't see any pictures either, only rick's garage. So I'll ask again what RJANSEN already asked, anybody know where to find the GM lifting procedure.

Been meaning to get around to getting some of Skylane's lifting blocks.

I noticed on Skylane's site they have options for coupe or convertible?

I have both a coupe (ss) and vert (zl1).

Anyone know the difference?
