Question How Loud Is An SS Exhaust?

Is an automatic Camaro 2SS with straight pipes and resonator delete (x-pipe) as loud as a Harley motorcycle at WOT?

You guys say straight pipes are "stupid loud" but I've never heard them in real life and you can't really tell in youtube videos. I like loud and you can hear those Harley from like a mile away in the country. Would a straight piped camaro get that loud?

Add headers or catless midpipes.

Yep. My exhaust was the almost the loudest when I had the Solo midpipes in. Just goes to show how much sound is suppressed by the factory cats. The muffler delete was probably 50% louder than stock (with the factory cats). The JBA 3" (with mufflers) is a little louder than the muffler delete. A lot louder at WOT. The Solos with the factory cans was easily as loud as the muffler delete. Headers + 3" catback I'm sure is just nasty

I have LT's on my SS and offroad mids and a Magnaflow tru flow xpipe and Pypes Pypebomb axleback, which is a muffler delete and one afternoon on the way home some guy with his beefed up Harley tried, and I said tried,to ake me and I jumped ahead of him and just kept pulling away from him, but all the time I could really hear his Harley over my exhaust at WOT, so I would say the system is NOT stupid loud but really loud at WOT, you'll like it, if not put a couple of resonaters in the middle to cut it down. I love mine, was thinking about toning it down some, but keep getting complements on how badass it sounds.

I have Stainless Works LT's, no cats and a Magnaflow 3" comp catback. Idle and light throttle is not too loud. You know it's there for sure but not much. WOT is pretty ridiculously loud.

PS. If you plan to do what you asked i'd disable AFM ASAP or you will want to stab your ears out so you don't have to listen to the horrible noises it will make.

If you want loud do what I've done, it's stupid loud! First you need 2" headers, 3" straight pipes, cam, LSX416, and a blower. You can make Harleys run scared, Hell's Angels my

In all seriousness, these cars get pretty loud pretty quick with LTs.

Whereabouts in Missouri are ya? If you're fairly local you should listen to my setup..it's a nice balance of ear bleeding loud at WOT but really 'nice' at cruise (no drone at all).

See page 1 on my build thread, about halfway down the page I have a video.

LS3, LT headers, HF cats, Muffler delete.

The person taking the video is about 100 yards away from me by the end of the video. It's LOUD

No. Its normally accepted by the police departments that Harleys should be loud.

It's shake the pictures off the walls loud.... Just unbolt your axelback and fire it up to see if you like the sound. Will sound pretty much the same with a SLP Loudmouth axelback. As stated above high flow cats and long tube headers make it even louder.
