Mufflers change tone as you put more miles on them. Its all normal except the part that you here something banging around. Mine were supper loud at first then after 3 to 400 miles later they were much quieter. Still sound great when I hit the gas but low rumble at idle.

Don't cats only get clogged up from running a dangerous amount of rich?

After a few hundred miles they get a little softer in sound, and also you get use to the sound. At first is sounds like a monster, because it is new.

If you hear a rattling, that's a different story.

alright it could be what I had. The misfires are probably because you need a new cat like they are saying. It doesnt use all of the motor when it goes into that mode and thats maybe why its quieter. does the car feel a lot slower?

About 14 months ago my v6 misfired one morning. I took it to the dealer and they flashed the ecu or another module which is known to cause cold start misfires. I have a feeling you may not have the GM update on yours. You should see a dealer soon and have them update. There are many threads about this and I did see an official document from GM.
