Installed catch can, now have burning smell
So last night I installed my Mishimoto catch can, started it up to check for leaks and there were none, but there was a smell of burning oil. Did a search and it is something that came up with many cars that it is possibly the hoses Mishimoto uses, what hoses have people used for their catch cans, if that is indeed my issue.

This could be my issue. I noticed a small amount of oil around my oil cooler last oil change and just accredited the oil burning smell to that leak possibly getting worse. But now that I think about it, it didn’t start till after I installed my catch can. I’d be interested in what others have to say, too.

It definitely isn't a problem with all of their hoses, but if you do a search for Mishimoto burning oil smell, there are a lot of comments on a lot of various forums for different cars about it.

So there is info about the hoses being the cause of the smell out there but discovered my issue was one of the fittings going to the can itself was not screwed on all that tightly and it was just fumes escaping that I smelled. Tightened it up, smell is gone.

I went with the braided Elite hoses. No issues. But...some hardware was on me. Like, $60 worth!
