I plan to run the AutoX only. Can I run in two different classes? My car would be considered "modified" without the Pirelli slicks and "super modified" with them. I'd like to run it both ways if possible. Thanks.

Do we have a final decision on the pants, jackets and other safety equipment for the track?

There are a tone more rules involved for the majority of the cars that will be involved. I'm not sure how picky tech will be.....

Driveshaft loop
Metal valve stems
Trans blanket / shield
fire jacket - ANY forced induction
long pants - above 9.99 jeans are fine
Helmet - SNELL 2005
They can check lug nugs
They can check the crotch belt position
They can check the axles
5 point harnesses - In service date - only good for 2 years
SFI Balancer

The list goes on and on but those are the regular ones that I deal with.

Equipment and Tech
  1. HELMET CHANGES!!

    1. There will be 5 loaner helmets on site at the Autocross if you don't have one. If folks have more than one and want to loan that would help out too, but 5 will be on hand.

    2. Snell M rated helmets (2010) will be allowed on the Autocross.

Per NHRA safety rules 11.49 to 10.00 a SFI 32A-1 jacket is required. 9.99 and quicker -5 jacket and pants are required. Helmets Snell rated M or SA 2005 or newer is required for vehicles running 13.99 and quicker. long pants are all you need. Shorts are prohibited at any time.

You guys will not be running in stock Eliminator SFI pants are required only at NHRA Divisional and National events when you run in the stock class otherwise till 10.00 flat pants are fine. Make sure you wear pants because shorts are prohibited. The rules posted in the 1st post of this thread are from the stock eliminator class specific part of the NHRA rule book not General Regulations. 11.49 or quicker the jacket is required.

Allright, I'm a tad confused... was reading about helmet requirements for drags, with track following NHRA rules, re: helmets. This is posted at top of the thread:

Quote:
Effective Jan. 1, 2008, full face helmet mandatory on all cars 9.99 or quicker. See Individual Class Requirements for additional requirements. Shield mandatory 7.49 & quicker.
E.T. cars (13.99 or quicker) must use a helmet meeting Snell 2005, 2007 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, 31.1/2005, 41.1A, 41.2A or 41.1/2005 Specs. Drivers in supercharged, front-engine, open-bodied cars and Funny Cars must wear a helmet meeting Snell SA2005 or SFI 31.1A, 31.2A, or 31.1/2005 Specs. See Class Requirements.
So if I am reading that right, cars slower than 13.99 wouldn't need a helmet per NHRA rules, but 'Fest drivers will have to have helmet anyway?

It's really an insurance thing. We were able to save a lot if we required everyone in all driving events to wear a helmet. Helps us keep the price down.
