NEED HELP BADLY
I need help badly because I got pulled over 3 times tonight and I don't know what this problem is.
Yesterday my driver side blinkers were working fine, then suddenly it wouldn't click back after I made a turn. Now this morning the rear taillight went out so I changed the bulb, but now the blinker still wont work. I can make them flash manually but it will not do it by itself, it just holds the lights on (which usually means a bulb is out but they are not) When the lights are on, the taillight is always bright (which it is supposed to brighten up when you brake). So when its dark out, I keep getting pulled over for no blinker/brake light. But they were understanding and let me go luckily. Can anyone diagnose these issues? Im thinking blinker box? And does anyone have a diagram on how to get into the steering column? I suck at most electrical things lol. I'm all motors :/ .. Appreciate it guys.

You might need to replace a fuse.

Never had this issue on a 4th gen, but it may need a new relay, fuse (as mentioned above), or flasher solenoid thingy (sorry, I can't think of the correct name!).

I looked at a wiring schematic for your car, and the system is very basic. Double-check the bulb you installed. It is either incorrect, defective, or installed incorrectly. That's really the only way the "bright" side of the bulb would be lit up when the lights are on. It would also cause your no-flash for that side for the turn signals.
Also check the socket carefully. Make sure nothing is melted, cross contacts, or broken. Post up when you find the problem.

The bulb is correct, nothing is cross contacting it, nothing is broken, or melted. I am going to have to go with the relays?

The bulb was put in backwards? HOW THE HELL CAN A BULB GO IN BACKWARDS!? I feel stupid now lmao. But now when I make turns it does not automatically click back, so im guessing its a blinker box or whatever its called.
