Why are 21 inch tires so expensive?
I was looking at the GM Camaro 21inch wheels a few days ago. Liked the design of the wheel the price of 21inch tires are ridiculously expensive, poor selections, and treadwear is bad too.
There are a much wider selections of 22inch tires and they are cheaper than the 21s....are there any reason why the 21s are so expensive compared to the 20s and 22s? |

Supply & demand
Few are going with 21" so more cost to produce fewer tires.

They're so expensive b/c they are far less popular. It cost the tire maker more per tire to make a 1000 pc lot compared to a 5000 pc lot.

Quantity demanded can't go up unless the price comes down, which can't happen unless the quantity supplied goes up.. It's just a circle. The only things that will change it are a vast shift in income (not likely anytime soon in todays economy), or a tire company willing to put themselves in the hole for a while by producing more at a lower price until consumers come around and start buying (not likely ever in a business model).
