So did the TPMS issue ever get solved?

I haven't been very active on the forum lately so I didn't get to read what became of the tpms issues people were having. All I remember was GM changed the frequencies.

I'm curious about this too! I was told by GM Parts Direct that the TPMS sensor part number for my 2010 Camaro SS was 12768826, but that part number has now been superceded by 20922900. But since reading about the different frequencies, I'm not sure which of these or both will work for my early vin. To complicate matters even worse, Forgeline is telling me I need to get GM sensors that have an aluminum valve stem so that they will mount to their TPMS sensor brackets. So, now I'm really confused as to what I need!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I've not heard of any news regarding the Camaro TPMS issues. The only safe bet at the moment is to use actual GM part# sensors. Your parts dealer can use your VIN# to search for the recommended sensors for your car. These will not have an aluminum valve stem, they are all rubber stem sensors.

I think on custom rims and i found this on almost all, the OEM sensors do not sit right on the barrel of the rim. What we are going to test next week is some thick dense VHB tape under the sensor to stop it from moving when its in motion. I think this is whats setting our fault off when we hit bumps in the rear wheels only. sensors are too prone to shock which can throw off the sensitivity They need to be secure and I am confident the aftermarket 315mhz units will work if mounted properly. Its very annoying to say the least.

We have the Forgeline parts in stock you need to have a hole drilled in your wheel barrel to use there brackets. Did Forgeline do this for you already? Do you have the 90 degree stem? Gotta speak to David.

when i bought my replica's from discount tire I had them install new sensors on the wheels. had to reset them once, but golden since.

Yep, my new (used) Forgelines supposedly have the correct hardware for mounting the sensors inside, and they do have the 90 degree stems. But since they came off a BMW, I need to remove the BMW sensors and install GM sensors. However, David told me to make sure I order the GM sensors with the aluminum valve stems, so now I'm confused about what part number to order. Or if the sensors from my factory wheels will work?
