The government got into the nanny buisness with motorcycles back in the 1970's. Motorcycles have had these lights since then. Leave them on, it is no big deal. The alternator is designed with this feature in mind and it is actually better for it to have a more constant draw on it. I just hate it when politicians design motor vehicles. Also the 5th gen allows you to shut the lights off, then 4th gen did not. Once you released the E-brake after dark, on they went.

Did anyone ever find out how to make it so you don't have to turn off your headlights whenever you start your car?
