Bad news if you ordered a non PDR SS 1LE...
My dealer was contacted by GM, and Becky confirmed, that as of now NO non PDR cars are going to be build in the near future. So, you can wait, who knows how long, or add PDR to the order.
I didn't want PDR, but I also don't want to wait...so I just added PDR to my order... |

And now how do I add it without completely cancelling and re-submitting my order |

That is disappointing. Sorry man.
I wonder what from a manufacturing standpoint creates the problem. You would think it is just an empty plug on the wiring harness if not added. Apparently not that easy.... Is the PDR an optional piece on the zl1 or standard? I wonder if the same issue exists for them.

Whoah, did they give a reason? I'd think it'd be the opposite with a glitch in the PDR kit or some technical issue to add it in - not that every car MUST have it. GM strong arming the masses into an extra $1,000+.

If you don't want to wait, call your salesman and have him add the PDR. You may not lose your spot if you add it. I went from 3000 TPW 11/7 yesterday, to 2000 today due to this. My salesman thinks once it updates I will go back to my old spot. Since GM called my dealer, I am thinking it may be some time for non PDR cars to be built. From what I was told, there is some issue with a supplier made part on the non PDR cars...

Same here...but I think I will end up using the PDR more then I think. Plus, down the road I think PDR will definitely be a plus for resale.

I would love to be able to use the PDR but didn't really want to pay another $1300. As for resale, I could care less haha I'm keeping this car indefinitely, eventually I will have a blue 67' to park beside it!

My friend has it on his C7, he loves it. Uses it at autoX, drag strip and even as a dash cam when he drives through certain areas he says...

Don't forget the Valet Mode with the PDR... useful in a big city where parking is a premium.

Going to sound cynical but the same thing happened to Corvettes at the start of 2015 with Carbon roofs.
So you could either wait an eternity for the standard, no cost carbon roof or "upgrade" for $1,000 to a Transparent roof panel. This happened for a few months whilst Corvettes were on back order and customers were willing to pay extra to get a car fast. As soon as supply outpaced demand the "problem" disappeared. So at the end of the day GM can do what they want and as customers you can do what you want, but essentially this is a $1,000 tax to get your car more quickly. You can pay to play now or wait a few months and get it at the cheaper price Mark |

Can PDR be used as a dash cam too?
