They do not go off the turn signal is not part of the led strip. I saw it in the rear of someones car today snd it looked cool.

Yes it was the daytime running lights that went off. I noticed it on the back of someone's vehicle.

I noticed way back on pics of the ZL1 prototype that the "Accent LED" in the headlight (DRL said to be lower LED per GM wording I think) that it doesn't turn off with the turn signal. May just be cause it's a prototype it doesn't have it for road laws yet, but could be it may be relatively easy to have it stay on.

YAAAAAAS. but just the DRL's / Halos. Also the fog lamps go off when the high beams go on. Ridiculous. You can override.
I quit using my turn signals. No one else does anyway. haha ( j/k sort of )

The reason is something like this:
Audi of America, which offers LED daytime running lights on all its models, says that the LEDs turn off when a turn signal activates because federal regulations say that no lights that are brighter than the turn signals can be on at the same time during daylight hours, which could prevent other drivers and pedestrians from noticing that a turn signal is on. So it makes sense that if the blinker has to be brighter when on then the DTRL should be off.

Okay guys, I spoke with Ofer at Gen5DIY and he will send me a harness similar to the Gen5 RS halo light harness. I will beta test it and let everyone know how it works out. I have to speak with his colleague Jared tomorrow and we'll work out the final details. I can't wait. I hate seeing the "eye liner/accent led" turn off every time I change lanes. I'll keep you all up to date.

So far what i noticed thus far is on the 2016 2SS i have, the turn signal will shut the upper daytime running LED on the side that is signaled but also what i found out is at night when the headlights are on and i hit the turn signal all LED's on both sides stay lit which i like more like most others here of course. I feel the same way sometimes about not hitting the blinker during the day to keep the LED on LOL!

Guys I should be getting the harness from Gen5DIY sometime next week that will fix this. There will be 2 different types, a dimming and non dimming version.
The dimming version keeps the stock setting that slightly dims your main headlamps and the accent LED just below it. Then there is the non dimming version. I'll beta test it and report back how it works. If it's anything like the Gen 5 harness, it should be flawless. |

Well, I finally had a chance to install the Gen5DIY harness to keep the accessory "eye liner" LED's on when engaging the turn signal and it was a PITA. Not as simple as it was on my 5th gen. It involved putting the car on jack stands removing both front wheels and wheel well liners to access the headlight connectors. It took me 3 hours to do it but I was taking my time, making sure I did things properly. The instructions on the Gen5DIY website were not complete and did not mention where on the fuse block to insert the add a fuse connection. I had to call them and I was told it was fuse 50. I tested everything and love the look now. I had purchased the rear backup LED light harness from them also and installed that as well. That only took 30 minutes. If anyone wants to see what it looks like, I'll upload a video tomorrow.
