the dealer has what they call an attachment kit for the subwoofer, however they also say, they have no way of knowing what's included in this kit for $285.00, AND that is non refundable. lol... AND they have no phone number of who ever make and sells the kit.

The attachment kit, the product # is 92234808. If anyone can tell me what's included in the kit before i buy if, that would be most helpfull.

I still can not get over how expensive this is... for that price you can replace all the factory speakers and amps and add a sub box...

I have had this sub for about two months now (time flies), and here are a few of my notes on it.

Day 1. After the sub was installed, I was a bit underwhelmed at the overall performance of the combination. I have had an MTX aftermarket sub before, so I was really expecting some clean, hard hitting sound. The first day after the install it seemed that the system struggled to produce any meaningful low end sound power. I tried one or two of my files from my USB, and I just figured that perhaps the system's power was weak and that I'd basically have to live with it. The sound response was better from the basic form (with no sub), but not what I was expecting.

A week ago: I turned up the gain control on the subwoofer, and I tried a different music file. A total difference in sound output happened later; I actually did a double take. I realized that some of my mp3 files on the thumb drive were probably compromised when converting them from the CDs. Mind you, I am used to the sound quality of CDs, so initially I was unimpressed with the BA and MTX combo. What I found was that it depends A LOT on the quality of an MP3 recording. Once I hit a good file, the bass was much louder and had really great low and mid range sound. In the end I had changed my mind and was satisfied with the system's results. I even feel that (on some records) it could outstrip my previous MTX set up in my other Camaro.

So as time progresses, I'll be learning more about getting better quality MP3s, and getting to know the strengths and limitations of my sub and system combo.

So, I have a question for anyone that has installed this sub: Have you tried relocating or adding a second gain control knob to somewhere a little more accessible (like the center console)? If so, do you have any suggestions (like a part number for a knob)?

Thanks!

Relocate to where? It's designed to fit a specific location.

Factory MTX Audio Amp/Sub installation...

Let's start at the very beginning...

A very good place to start. ...Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1406099390.352710.jpg

4 Gauge RED & BLACK I believe
There is NO wiring harness in the $285 bolt kit GM Parts house tell me.
Fuse 50,100,200amp ... as long as it's more than 50, I'll be doing 100 myself
It works with BA & non-BA systems

All I need now is time and some wires.
So far (in the UK) DIY wires, connectors, eyelets, fuse&holder, bolts will cost me about £85.

I'm going to splice wire into the OEM Amp in the back left light well.

I'm also looking at the install instructions and considering splicing into the rear parcel shelf speakers instead.

I don't want to relocate the sub. I just want to put a control knob for it in the center console.
