Engine Knowledge Needed! Help!

I'm hoping one of you guys would be able to help me out. I'm rebuilding what I think is a 1987 L98 Vette motor. I say "I think" because I ran the block number and it came back 86-89 and the head casting came back 1987. I'm asking this question here because I know the L98 was pretty much the same in the camaros. Anyways... I went to put the rear main seal in and it looks like I'm missing a piece. Is this what I'm missing and will this particular one fit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Parts...3756.m20.l1116 Thanks!

Yeah I found that just after I posted the original. I just wasn't sure if there was a specific one for L98 motors (I saw some special ones for LT1s) Thats what I get for having my old room mate help me take it apart. Half of my parts are missing! Thanks for the info though!

I guess I answered my own question and I'll just ask that guy if it fits... My motor doesn't have this.

always the first thing you do when you find something you think might be missing is go and look. good luck with fitment and just curious what is the motor going into?

Well I got lucky and I guy I know knew exactly what I was missing and had one laying around. Now I have to get new piston rings because the ones I have are not "shallow groove". UGH!! Old Moly rings $35.00 new Moly rings $75.00 and I have to wait till Aug 21st to get them!!!! This thing is fighting me all the way!

Belive it or not its going into a Jaguar XJS Convertible (looks just like my avatar)... Thats another problem.. I should have just bought a camaro! Brakes?? 6.6 hour book time to R/R rear calipers!!!!! Parts? $200 a piece for calipers and $110 a piece for rotors! Gas tank?? Leaking... $1900 for a refurbished replacement! (Just bought a fuel cell from summit for that). New convertible top, new carpet, going to get new front seats at a swap meet this weekend. Yeah this car is gonna put me in the poor house!

87 Vette motor with xe268 cam, roller rockers, 9.5 to 1 pistons, rebuilt aluminum L98 heads, new dual 2 1/2" exhaust, 2300 B&M Stall in a TH350 tranny and the unfortunately unchangeable 2.88 gears in the Jaguar locking diff.
