I saw this article last night.Yeah, it takes our beloved Camaro to task. So what, that doesn't, to me, make them bad people.

Each car has unique qualities and deficiencies which will attractnor repel customers.

The Camaro has its traditions and foibles. Likewise the Mustang has its own unique character The Challenger, to me, is a different breed of cat.

Bottomline, to me at least is that they are all nice autos. I wouldn't mind having any one of them in my garage.

Sometimes we get too wrapped up in being fans. We need to look at these criticisms as opportunities for improvement.

The buying public will always be a fickle lot. I bought my Camaro, because I loved the style and performance. Is it perfect, no. There is no such thing as a perfect automobile. But I like what I have and it has fulfilled my lifelong dreams for this type of car.

It's when they complain about the Camaro's weight....and then rate the Challenger ahead of it. Or the ride. Come on. Anyone who has been in the new Camaro knows it rides great.

Motor trend also said that the V6 Camaro was a better vehicle than the V8 independent of cost which is a bold/strangley formulated statement. Don't get me wrong I'm not dissing the V6 but I can't agree with that statement at all.

Motor Trend is an inferior publication compared to Car and Driver as well IMO. They always tend to come up with unrealistic 0-60 and 1/4 mile times (I remember seeing a 0-60 time of 5.5 seconds for a stock VW GTI automatic). I've caught at least 5 spelling or grammar mistakes which is unacceptable for a mass publication, and they are fickle as someone else here said about their reviews.

Thanks! I'm glad so many people recognize the Great One! I wasn't sure when I made the image if it was going to work.

That makes no sense at all. Are they Huffing the ink over there?

Everyone seems to rag about the quarter mile times. You will never see the same figures in all of the various publications.

Drivers vary, temperatures vary, humidity varies, altitude, etc. It's all relative to the various conditions that exist at the time of the tests.

It always amazes me how folks hang so much on those numbers. Good heavens folks, get real and understand the way they are produced.

As far as the weight thing and the Challenger goes, Yeah, that is one heavy car. But its more of a cruiser than a racer.

In a way its just like the Camaro. A blank canvas, with which you can work some performance and appearance mods.

Like I have said many times before, I would love to have one of each, to enjoy. (Camaro,, Mustang, and Challenger). But reality sets in when I have to look at what I can afford.

I just got my magazine.

It's painfully obvious Motortrend is trying as hard as they can to help Mustang sales.

It's one thing to test the cars and post the results, but Motortrend goes the extra mile to try to sell the Mustang to the public.

In every group (all cars together) photo they make sure to put the Mustang in front of the Camaro. But no matter how hard they try to make the Mustang look better than the Camaro, it just doesn't work.

I have subscriptions to Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Super Chevy, Hot Rod, Camaro Performers, Car Craft and Consumer Reports. I pick up other car magazines based on their monthly stories.

Each magazine seems to have its own "personality" and "niche". Each "automotive journalist" writes his subjective opinion on each vehicle then an Editor compiles and writes the article. Only one of the above magazines does not accept advertising.

Ad dollars drive the magazines as much a subscriptions and OTC sales. How many Ford ads and GM ads have been placed in Motor Trend lately? Might be interesting to research.

They note that both the Camaro and the Challenger drive great at "7/10s". To me that means that they are too soft for the track. After spending the last 4 years in a Z51 suspensioned 1999 Corvette Coupe, I agree with that comment and that is one of the reasons I bought my non-RS SW 1LT M6 Camaro. I am tired of getting beat to death every time I drive the car.

A "Track Pack" on the street is too much and not nearly as comfortable as a more compliant suspension. Both the Mustang and the Genesis are great cars, but I don't want one.

Sometimes I think you ARE the Great One using a pseudonym. Many of your comments sound like something he would say. (Plus, I'm pretty sure the Great One has a new Camaro too.)

I'm sorry, a live axle is pathetic in this day and age. Yes, the Camaro suspension is kind of soft for my tastes, but after I swap out some parts, it will be sweet. The Mustang's chuck wagon rear end will never have any hope.

MotorTrend is definitely on the take.
