This weekend while driving around, when the sun hits the insert just right, I noticed what appears to be a dent on the drivers side near the back of the insert. I know that CF does not dent like metal, so I figured I'd take it to the dealer and have them look at it.

Then tonight while browsing some threads, I noticed a pic of another car with almost exactly the same issue.

Does anyone else have this issue?

Mine appears to be the same as you describe , it hasnt bothered me too much I figured Id be told its normal maybe ill wait and see how somebody elses dealer experience goes and then I might mention it to them

It might be from being fastened down just a hair to much.

its too tight. when they replaced mine they overtightened it and left dimples or dents where the mounting hardware is

The fasteners are a tad too tight. Pull the plastic plugs from the underside of the hood and loosen the nuts just a touch . . watch it in the sun and the dimples reduce, if not go away.

Ty all for the responses. No idea why I just noticed it after 3 weeks, it drove me nuts all day seeing the reflection distorted.
