What's up - new owner
Here I am….
Well, 2 years after looking and driving a $42k Camaro SS, my wife finally made a compromise. I could keep most of my toys but the new Camaro would have to be toned back. My kids are 3, 8, 11, and 15 and the last 23 years of 2-seaters is over. “If you want a new car it has to have a backseat and your budget is $22k” I had her cornered wink wink Test drove the new Toyota FR-S, really cool car and met the backseat requirement ready to sign for 27k, she was willing, but wanted me to shop around…Little did my wife know I had already arranged looking at a 2011 Camaro with a dealer who had it for 22k It had everything I needed, Exhaust was going to be coming out, so were the wheels and tires. Radio? Who needs high end.. I spent 10 years 133k miles in a convertible with magnaflows and a header….All I need is a daily driver that looked good and ran great, cheap money to leave me room for the upgrades I WANT. I basically drive from Daytona to Orlando every day and needed decent gas mileage an automatic because of the ridiculous traffic and something that felt good with me in it. My wife and kids were buyers at 22k on that used car, but the dealer offered me basically the same car NEW 2013 for $25k after rebates and blah blah blah…..She drove it first, fell in love and we took delivery Saturday after a free window tint and detail. No decals, no stripes just black outside, black inside and the heritage steels (which I actually like)…… First day got me 32mpg average, but that dam right foot can’t resist and I am settled after 4 days around 26mpg……Love this car. Don't need bells and whistles. kids are happy, the wife is happy In the last 26 years I have owned and modified a black 1979 350/4sp (my first car), 1989 MR2 SuperCharged, and then the mr2’s in my sig..My 1993 is sale pending today. I auto-crossed for 10 years, with a lot of trophy's on the wall. I love to modify the crap out of everything, I can’t wait to get started. Read thru some posts for decent suppliers for the things I will be doing, looks like a great bunch of people here. -Marc Ps. If you love the steelies, I have a free set for you! Lug nuts, trim rings, center caps, everything. Can't ship, though, the boxes my new wheels came in are pretty beat up.
