Nope. Mine paint is holding pretty good. It's my DD, I park in the dirt at work and I never garage my car. Every time I wash it it looks just like when I brought her home.

There are more threads then you can read on here in regards to GM's crappy paint and that's why I traded my 2011 2SS for a new 5.0 Mustang. I know some are going to say Fords paint is crap also but it's not, I have had my car a year now and all I can say is it looks the same as the day I bought it. I wish I could have said that about my SS.

Opti coat is a strong coating. It's a stronger clear than our CC which is great.
We should consider out selves lucky with our clear coat hardness.
Porsches are notorious for super soft CC.

You can blame our government and the EPA for our "green save the planet" paint systems.

I must be lucky because to be honest, my paint looks pretty damn good. I have NO orange peal and I have one small, barely noticeable chip on the front.

Now, I only have just under 3k miles on my car, it's garaged with a car cover but I have owned 8 new cars in 15 years and the Camaro has one of the nicest paint jobs of all 8.

I have a DD, with 15k miles on it, all highway (where the rock chips come from), and I have 1 VERY SMALL rock chip. Thats it.

The paint has held up great!

Yes?

I'm actually about to give up on my paint, almost 11 months old, almost 11,000 miles, yeah it's black, yeah's a ZL1 with wider tires, but the literally 100's of chips down the sides just look horrible.

I showed them to the service guy at the dealership, he came back with I should buy some rock guards off of Ebay, thanks, I bought some off of here already.

But it was the front of the car where I was detailing this week where I began to lose faith. It looks terrible. So oh well

Lucky, mine is also a daily driver and only 2 months old - there are already 4 freaking rock chips. I bought a package of Dr. Colorchip to hopefully make them look acceptable.

I didn't really want a Clear Bra on black, plus the good quality clear bra is very $$ and adds nothing to the value of the car when you resell it - that said, I regret not getting one this time..

Also, the black paint swirls like crazy - only clean microfiber towels touch my car and I use an Adam's polish mit to wash the car with lots of suds from Adam's car wash, yet my car is already full of very light swirl marks (only visible in direct sunlight at certain angles). I wonder how many of the swirls were the result of dealer car washes.....

I've got a ton of rock chips on the front fascia and on the rear gills. Everywhere else is perfect and holds up fine.
