Is it better to park far away or closer to the building in a parking lot?

I got my car on Wednesday, and it is my daily driver. I'm a little worried about leaving it in the parking lot while I'm at work, although I'm sure it will be fine lol.

I work in a Pharmacy. But is it better to park in the front? I think this way there is less of a chance of someone trying to steal it since there are a lot of people around, but more of a chance of someone hitting it with their car door, etc.

Or should I park further away?

Closer in. Douches seem more tempted to mess with a car if it's parked out by itself. It's just more noticeable than if it's parked with other cars. Sure you might get the occasional door ding but its better than some asshole sending a shopping cart at your car, in my opinion.

here nyc lot of crazy people don't know how to drive so you should park the car in a place where you can see it.

i agree i went in to pep boys to show the car to my mechanic when i first got it now i parked in the last row of the 3 they have nothing on either side and the whole parking lot was pretty much empty as i am inside talking to him some A$$ clown decides to pull in and park in the spot right next to my camaro. so hes walking around looking at it and walks into the store and i said is there some reason of all the empty parking spots in the lot you have to park right next to my brand new car? and he says settle down bro i just wanted to get a good look at it and i said you could look at it i dont care about that but you didnt have to park right next to it.

Parking lots are public, who are you to tell someone where they can park ? like it or not, you take your chances that's all.... If you approached me like that, I'd have to tell you " Screw you bud " ......

Since I've had mine when I go out to dinner I park in front of the place and then ask to be seated by the window so I can watch the car. I haven't braved a trip to the mall yet and I may take my impala when I do. When I went to the grocery store I parked at the end of the lot and took up two spaces. Yes, I did what most people (including myself) have bitched about other people doing but I didn't want to chance it.

Leave it at home if you plan to go shopping and leave it in a parking lot. Its the reason I have 2 cars. I use the Camaro to drive around town or to someones house. If I know I am going somewhere that I will need to park in a parking lot, I leave the Camaro at home. With the a$$hats out there now, I am not taking my chances. People have no regard for other peoples vehicles.

I prefer to park further away with at least one side along a curb. Less chance of door dings. If someone's going to steal it, they're gonna get it anyway whether far or near.

no offense but that kind of attitude just invites people to screw with your car dude. I would rather not have someone next to me but when they do I just hope they are careful and stay the hell off my car.

I'm parking her further away. Both times so far, nobody has parked next to me when I'm parked way out in the Walmart lot. I did take her to a bar one day and parked her next to the curb on one side and had my brother park on the other side to protect her.

I'm getting the clear bra put on. I've seen where someone has put it on the side doors as well as the front. I thought that was a good idea to protect from door dings that will eventually happen. I just remember my 68 Camaro had door dings from people and this car has similar door panels.

I take no chances. At my worksite we have ground parking in addition to a 4 story parking garage. I park my Camaro on the very top of the parking garage where it is usually up there by itself. When I got to the store or mall I park as far away as possible so hopefully that no one else will park near me and open up there door and scrape my Camaro. At times even though I park far away I have come back to see a usually nice car (porshe) etc. that parks right next to me. So far so good.

You can't avoid it unless you rarely if ever drive it. Bonnie says I'm rediculously obsessive about parking. She wasn't saying that after my car got hit even though I take all the precautions.
