This is what my front pads looked like the last time. I cleaned up the one but the other one shows the crispy Permatex Ceramic lube...

Shoot, that's what I got. I won't even bother trying it then...

Bendix is the other one I listed. Those are the only 2 I'm aware of, unless there are some on the motorcycle side...

Thanks. I'll have to check but I'm sure my lube is baked to a crisp too. But I will swap these out and put the Hawk 5.0 pads on for the street and probably have the stock front rotors turned since they are slightly grooved now from the street/race compound. Then when it's time for the track again, I'm going to get HP+ for the rears and use these pads with some new 2 piece RB rotors and ducts.

I'm currently running XR3 front and rear. Not a fan of the shower of sparks/flames coming from disintegrating front rotors during autocross, never mind track use.

Can someone recommend me a set of front/rear pads this season with the same initial bite, modulation and good torque but with better rotor life?

I was running Hawk DTC-30's up front and HP+ in the rear. No sparks But they had excellent bite at the track. I fell in love, just had to take them off for daily driving because of the noise.

(BTW... the wheels are still awesome... thanks again. Went through the BFG Rivals and am now on Michelin PSS )

I am working with Wilwood on a custom brake package for the 5th Gen and also custom pads. There is a fifty set minimum order. I was leaning toward doing the custom front and rear pads for the six pot fronts and four pad rears...

Ahh, interested in that for next season(likely going to Street Prepared).
For now, I need to stay OEM calipers/rotors to be Street class legal.

As you improve at the track you will want to move up to something more agressive, but for a first timer you should be good with the HPS 5.0.

I would suggest you do a complete brake flush with good fluid before you hit the track though. This will require a scan tool to bleed the fluid in the ABS unit.
Just about to do a lineloc ss brakeline rotor pad mod found this in the history.
So do I need a dealer to do the bleed? glad I read this!
