JohnnyBfrompeoria broke a bent due to the old ipf idler pulleys locking up. He was able to put a stock belt on and drive it home without an issue if I remember right? IIRC, he was on a road trip, quite a ways from home?

Maybe a difference between the LLT and LFX? Because Fabberge had me put my stock tune back on during my injector fiasco just to check and my car ran just fine with the bigger intake tube. I'm not running the ipf kit but am running a 4" intake pipe.

So cut the stock cats off of the stock header and gut them and attach them to the new headers?

I should picking up an ipf kit off someone this weekend...looking to pick up anything else i can before install and looking at some of the recommended things to do on here....any suggestions on which catch can to get? I have the standard elite catch can now (would i be upgrading to one with two ports? And also i saw the iat being moved closer to the throttle body ( is there a prefabbed kit i can purchase?) any advice would be greatly appreciated!

No kit for the IAT relocation and it really isn't needed unless you are going to run methanol injection or long runs. IPF did not cheap out on the intercooler and it is extremely efficient, but will eventually heat soaked after a while. The IAT relocation will just allow timing to be pulled if it does get heat soaked, but the knock sensors can do that also.

The catch can is up to you, but the single port can be used on the clean side and a dual port on the dirty side, but make sure they both have check valves.

I understand how gutted cats will pass a visual inspection and also make the car sound a little better by eliminating rasp, but how would it pass the actual emmissions inspection if the insides of the cats are tampered with?

Not sure, I live in Maryland and last year for inspection they just hooked up some tubes to my mufflers and said I was good to go after a minute. But last month my friend said they hooked up to the car's CPU to check the o2 sensors.

So do you think gutted cats would be fine for emissions in my state?

Woohoo! I am all installed! The only issue is that my software is out of date, so I could not install the tune. Does the update need to be done at the dealership?
