Engine cover removal?

I have the engine cover on, as shipped by the factory. I was reading that that muffles alot of the noise. Would it be noticable to take it off? Good/bad sound with it off?

I mean, i know its plastic but i was reading somewhere it really muffles the noise. I didnt wanna write anything on there without getting other opinions, just could not see how that would work.

Yellow, how do you like the cams? I was considering that as well. Nothing sounds better than a cammed car. DO you have any sound clips that i can envy?

It has a layer of insulation under it to help with noise reduction, so it's more than just a piece of plastic.

Chech the MACE thread page 18 has the latest video. I haven't seen the car in person since the transport picked it up August 8th. Lol , going thru withdrawal without it.

Leave the Engine Cover off. In the Engine compartment, just behind the Engine Cover is a Rubber Strip, Cut off about 2' in the center and remove, you now have a funtional scoop ( air entering from the grill and exiting out the back) You have airfolw now, over the Engine, I measured the temp, with and without the strip, The temp was at least 10 degrees colder without the strip.

Its a very thin layer, if your worried about engine noise don't bother with performance upgrades or turn your stereo up louder. I would suggest stock exhaust, with an resonated x pipe and stock intake if noise bothers you.

???????? Huh? I just stated it was more than a piece of plastic, nothing about my preference to the engine sound. Even though it does not look like much it is there to reduce valve train and injector noise.
