Well finished it all up, polished it a little bit by hand to even out the clear coat - haven't tried wet sanding the clear yet but it's still an option. Used matte black Testors model paint on the bowtie in the center. Flash cast a little bit of a shadow on the driver's side part in a couple of pictures, it's much more uniform under regular lighting. ABM is really a bear to work with.

Did u do this yourself or did someone else do it for you (if so WHO?). That looks Awesome. I have been looking for something like that. I have two sons in the Army. I would like to add their names to the engine cover along with the Army logo where the center disk is with the Bowtie.

Airbrush Artist in Chicago area

Does anyone know of an airbrush artist in the Chicago area that does engine covers and hood pads?

That's looking real good Chad! You'll enjoy all the compliments you get when you pop the hood on that.

Awesome! I love the way you made your vents on the diagonal. Gives it a real aggressive look.

It doesn't answer your question, but I thought you might appreciate it anyway. I'm a Redwings guy myself, but that just wouldn't work with Synergy.

That's what I did. Didn't trust myself not to screw it up, so I just spent the money in advance.

Tip:
I saw in somebody's post where they had trouble getting the badge off without screwing it up. I had the same problem. I found that using a loop of thin, high tensile wire (an electric guitar string would probably work well) managed to cut through the glue with the least damage. Just tuck it under the lip of the badge, and pull it through carefully (one hand on each end of the wire like a draw knife). It takes a lot of oomph, but its far less destructive than a screwdriver!
