Pirelli vs Michelin and 255 & 285 setup
This is a dual question... I'm going to be needing new tires at the end of the season. As such I am trying to figure out which tires I want to replace them with. I have been happy with the Pirelli's... I still have the factory P Zero's that came with the car. I seen Tire Rack normally has a good price on the 245 & 275 setup. First question is has anyone done 255 and 285 on stock rims, and how do they fit?
If so I have been looking at 2 different setups Pirelli P Zero 255/40ZR20(101Y) Diameter 28" 285/35ZR20(100Y) Diameter 27.8" Michelin Super Sport 255/40ZR20(101Y) Diameter 28" 285/35ZR20(104Y) Diameter 27.9" Any suggestions? I just don't see getting new wheels anytime soon as I have other mods I want to do, but new tires are a bigger need. Which one has better Traction, tread life, etc... I couldn't seem to find PS2's in 285.

there is no problem using the 255/285 set up.....in the tire game, those sizes are what they call +1 and is perfectly acceptable.

The michelins are better then both invos and pirellis by alot. 300 treadwear, ride good and out handle them from all I hear and what freinds say that auto x. They do cost more though

I will be stepping up/down (wider, but smaller diameter) to the GTR setup as well, come spring.
255/40/20 285/35/20 They'll fit the stock tires just fine, I've been assured. I've chosen the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. |
