AAC DRL- Blue and the police
So I thought I should share a story with my fellow camaro owners...
About a month ago I installed the blue AAC DRLs and they weren't "blue" enough for me, so I bought some blue fog light covers from Big Worm Graphix...Now they are blue...anyways, I have driven by many cops and have not had any problems. I live across the street from the highschool and the highschool cop saw me, saw my lights and saw my tint so he pulls me over. ( I have only received one ticket and it was for tint ) He walks up behind the car and starts touching the back of the car...ummm okay...turns out he pulled me over for the lights.. he then proceeds to walk to the hood and asks if I have done any illegal modifications, CAI...let's just say he thinks the car is stock. he asks about the exhaust, I tell him they're cat back and are legal in california. I was very relaxed and respectful with him, and he looked at my license and realized that I lived in the community and that I went to the highschool a few years ago, so he looks at me, and simply says "change the lights to Amber or white, I will not be giving you a ticket" and walks away. It has been about a week since this happened and I have yet to switch the lights out, and I have driven by multiple cops. No problems. Should I leave them in and just turn them off when driving by the police? or just take them out to avoid further problems? Sorry for the bad picture, only one I have.

IMHO, he gave you a warning to change them, if you continue to run them and he pulls you over again there is no excuse.

Where I live you can get a ticket for driving around without your lights on as well - mainly only if it is night time though....and it is pretty damn easy to spot a car at night with their lights off.... they're usually the only ones haha.
How suspicious will that look...you drive by a cop and switch your lights off quickly...you are definetly not hiding anything! Just make your lights legal and then you won't need to sweat and panic every time you go for a drive in hope of not getting a ticket... |

Fyi, he was touching your car to put his fingerprint on it. They usually do this on the twilight. This is so if you run off and ditch the plates they can still prove you were the one they pulled over. Law enforcement 101.

Just take them out to save yourself money and stress. I don't know why people are crazy about the blue color. Put them on for the car shows but not for the street. I always choose white color LEDs for my cars and have had zero problems with the police.

Yes keep them white LED's and put blue covers on for shows or non-road displays at home or something. Once you get warned its tought to argue. Then again I have been warned twice for no front license plate and refuse to put one on lol
