How long before getting a CAI???

So my car is about 3 weeks old only has a few 350 miles on it... Im looking to get 22in wheels on within 2 weeks... To make up for the small loss of power and gas mileage i plan to buy a CAI to help compensate a little... Is it too soon to get a CAI?? Or should i let the car break in a few hundred or thousand miles before putting a CAI on?

Get it now. Whats wrong with instant gratafication, Get the CAI. Ind. The look is professional, and it only takes about 15 min. to install. And 13 added hp. aint bad either.

I had mine on the second day I owned it. It took me to the second day because I picked my car up around 9pm.

honestly i would put the 22s and just wait. take some advise, you are putting on some cool rims. screw the intakes and get a exhaust. make that car sound as good as it looks.

ok I had an intake and exhaust waiting the day my car came home....looks mean nothing if its completely quiet! but for MPG, a cai would help a little.

If you are buying a CAI for increased gas mileage, you will be sadly disappointed. I've never seen any mileage gains over what I got in the first 500 miles.

As for power increase, I put one on at 500 miles and had it on a dyno and made 366 RWHP. At 2,400 miles I had a baseline done before my headers and made 377 RWHP. The tuner told me in his experience that around 2,500 miles the engine begins to loosen up and you'll start to see HP gains. He does a lot of new car tunes for a dealer and shakes his head because these guys are having tunes done on Vettes and Camaros with no miles on them. Once the engine loosens up the tune should be tweaked again. So putting on a CAI with 350 miles don't expect much from it right away.

Cai and exhaust are my next 2 mods after the rims

I hear you..... Again im not expecting a dramatic or even noticeable increase in gas mileage... I think the general idea is that if u go with 22s ur gonna lose a small amount of hp and mpg... So i figured this is the most logical and easy mod to kind of stablize the loss back to what it is now without having to tune or other stuff. So overall you think i should wait till about 2500 miles before putting it on to make a difference?

I guess mine was a late bloomer! My first stock dyno was 366 RWHP and 369 RWTQ at 4000 miles. Then at 12,500 my baseline before the cam and bolt-ons build was 378 RWHP and 385 RWTQ. Go figure? Must have been that different day - different dyno effect everyone talks about.
