Send it to Hennessey. Since I got mine back I cannot get the tires to quit spinning and I still have a warranty.

This car has very sticky tires and the L99 is very clean off the line. Your best bet is in S mode hold down the T/C button for about 6 seconds or so until both T/C and stabilitrak go off. Find a nice piece of smooth blacktop put foot on brake and rev to 1,000RPM and punch it while releasing the brake and she will light them up good.
Easy to get them to light up out of a turn even with stabilitrak on. I'd advise it first few times as she will get loose but correct with it on. Rougher pavement you will be hard pressed to light them up in the best of conditions unless you power brake. Bear in mind you will not get crazy billowing smoke like the old days unless your power braking or doing it through the pit at the track. Technology has come a long way and she just wasn't built to light them up like the days of old but, rather built for quick times. You can do it just not like your remembering. |

Ok. If you have turned off total traction control, intentionally put it down in 1st, and if you still can't burn out, you need to do the fuse pull.
Do you know what we are talking about?...the fuse pull? First off, nothign less than the highest octane you can get.. Super here is 93 ocatane. Some places it's 91, 92, whatever. Don't put in anything less than super. Then, you have to do the fuse pull. That will reset your the computer to run the correct timing, yadda yadda. It'll work then! |

Hold the button down until TCS and stability management is both off. From a dead stop doing WOT you should be able to light up the tires and then some in 2nd gear. Our atleast chirp 2nd spinning first.

Tag is on to some stuff.
If dealer put 87 in it for checking it out they dropped you to low octane table. You need to run at least a full tank of 91 or 93 thru her. Then if you have a garage pull fuse 5 and fuse 20 in the engine bay fuse box for at least three hours. I have a garage and did it for overnight. Ask the modertors here I know how to get the L99 moving, I was the one with #230 who had GM engineers drive down to Alabama to figure why my car was slow. Turns out the computer cannot by itself go back to high octane levels. Now you do have some things againts you right now, HEAT and LOW MILEAGE. The car does not really loosen up till about 10K miles. Also the P-Zero's do not all ways squeal win spinning. After fuse pull go give it a try and then come back around and see if you can see where they left rubber. My car is at 30500 and I am on my 3rd set of back tires and I do not break stand, I get from 0-speed limit as fast as I can. But until GM figured out the computer problem which lead to the fuse pull trick my car would get beat by a V-6 Camaro. Hope this helped. |

Why do you need a garage to do the fuse pull?

Thanks guys! Ill definitely try the fuse pull. Im sure the dealers free tank at purchase was 87.. why would they give me a free full tank of premium?!?! Plus I was never aware of the computer issue with the octane. I have only filled up 1 time since Ive had it and I put 89 in it. Still have a half tank so ill drive it out, fill with high octane, and then do the full pull as you all suggested. Considering this is my first sports car in 10 years, I thought she was really quick but now Im excited to see how much faster she gets!! In SC right now, the days are generally about 90+ degrees so my big ass tires are pretty sticky on the hot pavement Im sure! As I said earlier though, I cant complain much, I like that she just grabs and goes! Spinning the tires means loss of control and your not moving but its still fun sometimes!! Thanks to all who responded !! Great site!! PS... why in the hell can I not upload a picture for my "Garage" ?? I was able to upload some to my "Album". I select the pic to upload then it sits there like its uploading but then after a minute, I just get a picture that is the symbol for a broken picture link. Does it have to do with the file size of the pic or maybe the dimensions ?
Once again.... Thanks everyone for your advise !! |

I couldnt light the tires up either, did the 5 and 10 fuse pull, then i could light them up all day, seems the dealer was using 87 octane to save money... the problem is once you put lower octane the fuel map changes, decreasing power, and will not reset itself once you put high octane. They only way to reset the maps is to pull 2 fuses or i think a tune can change the low octane map to a high octane map.
