But if there is not enough interest then the 1LE would be a loser for Chevy.
I think a big issue for GM with the 1LE vs Z28 is that EVERYONE knows or has heard of a Z28. However, normally only those who are knowledgeable in Camaro lineage are aware of the 1LE. It became more apparent with the 4th gen, but SS and Z28 are much more well known and therefore more likely to be profitable for sale. JMO

True, but that didn't stop them from using ZL1 ...

well, the ZL1 has its own unique backstory. and everyone knows someone who's brother-in-law's, neighbors', cousins, ex-boyfriends great uncle twice removed had one back in the day.

I was one of the first to suggest the change from Z28 to ZL1 with a solid rename arguement. I took a ton of heat but kept cool under pressure. So the rename was thanks to me right?

Now I am suggesting to skip Z28 on the 5th gen and use the name for a Boss kicking ATS Camaro. Am I two for two?

What I don't quite understand is why people such as yourself don't believe a 5th gen Z28 is possible. The main criticism is that its too heavy. But if the ZL1 can whoop the GT500 around VIR with 70 hp less and an extra 300 lbs to lug around ... what happens with a ~3900 lb Z28 (or 1LE) with power equal to, or greater than the Boss?

Sure more power is possible and wanted. But it would most likely make the Z28 too expensive. if they can do it for low 40s, do it!

So far the 1LE hasn't left the concept garage, yet...for example - the Leno car drives...was thought to be the Z28 look back in 2010...but we didn't make a Leno section.

If Chevy were to bring the 1LE to life...you can bet we'll give it a subforum!
Ahem.....

I think it's happening, isn't it? Under 3 minutes at VIR? Beats the Boss if it can be replicated.

Kinda split in the mod house on how we want it. Camaro enthusiasts at war here.

If I may, the site lends to general automotive and other vehicles. Which tends to turn into a Mustang forum. The site has a Camaro vs.... which turns into a Mustang forum. I'm grateful for both and enjoy the banter. For the most part it stays civil. However, the Camaro 1LE is now a living, breathing animal. I can't afford one the minute they release pricing, but intend to be in one by next summer. It sure would be nice to have all the discussion pertaining to the 1LE in one quick, easy to click location. My .02
