Unhappy 3rd Camaro in 3 Months

Below is the story of how I ended up on my 3rd Camaro in 3 months...

In august I purchased a 2011 2LT RS, drove it till mid October and realized I wanted a V8. After a month of negotiations I got a deal I couldn't refuse to upgrade to a 2011 2SS RS. I brought her home 2 weeks ago.

Now here comes the self-shaming / repent. While driving home late in the rain I took a turn too fast and lost control. The car was totaled. I'll open my self up to the ridicule and mention that I was coming home from a bar and had enough alcohol in my system to be over the limit. (don't do it)

I'm now on to my 3rd camaro in 3 months, a 2011 2SS RS. She will be babied like no other. I hope by telling someone this story it may save them from going through the trouble that I am now in. Even a couple drinks at the limit is too close when anything can happen...

To start off….at least you're ok (shows the safety measures worked) Next, you are an idiot….please take this lightly of course. I guess being a fireman and seeing people wrapped around poles, cars totaled and at the time being young when i started, going to school and seeing a kid crying because his mother just died in a car accident the day before….the one I was at, fixing a tarp to block civilians from seeing a dead body hanging in the car….sucks! It has been done by many (drinking and driving) and still happens but if you learn something or even think a little further a head and say no to that last beer it helps. I sound like an old man I know but it sucks being 30 yrs old and saying that you've seen many people die from a mistake is not fun. Enjoy the new car, looks great!

I'll bite. You're an idiot.

Don't drink and drive ever. How's that $20 cab ride sound now? Cheaper than a new Camaro? How bout if you had killed somebody else. You want to kill yourself, do it with a gun, but don't endanger others.

I'm off the soap box. Learn from it, grow up a little. Always, always, always, use a designated driver or take a cab.

I'm also on my 3rd Camaro, I also totalled my 2nd Camaro ('98 SS, wasn't intoxicated, just young, inexperienced, and reckless).

You live and you learn. Glad you turned out ok and no one else was hurt. Enjoy the new SS and please take care of it and yourself.

You have me beat as well, im on #4 in ten years, i had a 96, 99, 02 rs, and now a 13 2ss rs. Better have learned from your mistakes and not to drink and drive, these are powerful cars and when u get careless they will bite back. Cab ride is cheap or finding a DD is pretty easy. Sorry to hear about the car and glad your ok, but if i were u i would leave her at home when your going to go drink!

I think it's rad that you made this post. Obviously a majority of the people are going to go off on how you shouldn't drink and drive, and you're going to get a lot of heat for that. But i'm guessing that there is going to be someone who reads this and it makes them really think that bad things can happen.

Good for you.

It sucks, yes you should drink and drive obviously, but the fact that you are willing to take some shit to try and help someone out in the future is rad.

Props man. Good luck with the new car.

I only have to say as long as you learn from your mistakes. Also very big of you to throw it out there for people to see. Good luck and keep moving forward.

At least... you got a lesson that did not cost more than the disaster that Could become. With that said, we have all done something really stupid ... including me. So enjoy your new Camaro..and never drive faster than your Angels can fly...
