Things to do in Vegas! Give me ideas!

Alright, so I'm going to Vegas in a week. From the 12th-17th. I'll be working the 12th-14th but after that I can do what I want. My girlfriend will be coming with me and we are looking for ideas of things to do.

If anyone has been to Vegas and has ideas of fun things we could do till fill our time while we're there, I would really like to hear them!

And yes I know it does suck that I'll be there the week after SEMA.

We do want to go to a cirque du soleil show but there's a lot to choose from!

If you want to see a good show and are not easily offended, check out Absinthe at Ceasars. It is outstanding. The Sirens of TI (Treasure Island), the volcanoes at out front of MGM and the fountains at Belagio are all must sees and free.

Take her to Holsteins at The Cosmopolitan for dinner one night. It is really good and won't break the bank.

Awesome I will take a look at those! Absinthe looks really neat. And definitely going to see the fountains, didn't know about the sirens or volcanoes so I'll take a look at those.

Thanks Chase!

Hoover Dam in my opinion is a must see, if you like guns head over to The Gun Store you can shoot basically anything, not sure if it's still there but there was a car collection at the imperial palace, Gondola rides at the Venetian, best of all is people watching!

Visit Rick and the boys at the pawn shop, visit Danny over at Count's Kustoms, and then go see Rick at Rick's restoration. All three within a two mile radius, all open for visitors and business...

Any of the Cirque shows are great but "O" is amazing it is at the Belagio. The Belagio Buffet is also great if you go around 10:30-11:00 you can hit breakfast & they will change over to lunch while you graze! You can rent a car & drive to Hoover dam & take the tour. It is pretty cool! I usually try to get with some of the Sin City Camaro club comrads while I am there.

Hookers and Blow my man.

Seriously though, limited experience when we were there. We found deals on gambling at the Tropicana though, had a $2.50 roulette table. I gambled for ever on $80 there. Shop around for a cheap poker tournament, like $35 so you can both play even if neither of you has really played before. That way you can say you did it.

The Mirage used to have a brew pub, don't know if it's still there. I was told the breakfast buffet at the Paris was awesome, but we stood in line for an hour, they doubled the price since it was then lunch, and it was pretty terrible, so go early.

Trust me on this one, go to the New York-New York and put $25 on 17 on the first roulette table you come to. I told a friend of mine to do that and he did, and it hit. 35 to 1 odds, good pay out.

One piece of advice, if drinking is your thing. Always tip a buck per drink, so you and your girl are on the slots or whatever, each order a drink, which should be free, tip $2 for that and every round. The waitresses know who tips, they'll bring your drinks faster, turns into a situation of the faster they can get you another round, the faster they make money. You don't even have to gamble to get free drinks. Just act like you're gambling and tip well. Throw a $20 in a quarter machine and cash it out when you want to get up.

That advice works for bottled water too. If it's hot in the daytime go cool off in a casino for a minute, repeat $20 in slots deal and get bottled water for the cost of a tip.

Different Stuff to do while you're here:

- Take a tour of LV Blvd on the Deuce Double Decker buses and ride "upstairs."
- Tour the conservatory at the Bellagio. the décor changes with the seasons. Don't forget to check out the Chihuly art glass sculpture above the Bellagio registration Desk.
- Bellagio also has a fine art gallery which has admission.
- The Fountains at the Bellagio; These are best viewed from one of the 2 -3 fine restaurants in the Hotel that have terraces over looking "Lake Cuomo". I personally don't care to contend with all the foot traffic on the street side of the Lake.
- At the Venetian, take a gondola ride inside or outside while the gondoliers serenade you with Italian Opera.
- At the MGM Grand, see the Lion Display
- At Mandalay bay see the Shark Reef
- At the Mirage, see the erupting Volcano, outdoors at night. I think there is still a dolphin habitat at the Mirage.
- Tour the Ferrari Store (last time I was there they charged a $10.00 admission) at either the Wynn or Wynn Encore, I don't remember which.
- Off strip on Flamingo Ave tour the Atomic Museum.
- In Henderson, tour the Ethel M Candy factory and Cactus Garden
- In suburbia, about 6 miles west of the Strip, tour "The Springs Preserve"

At night, take a taxi downtown to Fremont Street for Fremont Street Experience. Every hour, the outdoor lights are dimmed are there is a 10-15 minute light and sound show under the canopy, and if you're feeling adventurous, I think there is a zip-line ride you can do at the east end of Fremont Street.

When Downtown, pop into the Golden Nugget and see the worlds largest Golden Nugget on Display.

I think there is a respectable Car Collection on display at the Quad (formerly Imperial Palace) and it may be free.

Definitely want to go to Hoover Dam, we were looking at a tour that would go by there. I do like guns, so that would be pretty cool too...and the lady already found the Gondola rides haha so I'm roped into that one.

Yep, doing one or two of those and maybe finding one or two places that have been on Diners Drive-In's and Dives is on the list!

We will be staying at Excalibur. I do think we are going to a Cirque show...just not sure which one yet.

Thank you! The Cirque show my girlfriend saw that she wanted to go to was Zumanity...have you seen that one by chance?

I've never played roulette...the only thing I usually play is Craps...sounds like I need to brush up on the other games ha I might just have to go to New York New York and do that, don't want to mess with luck! I always always tip $1 per person every time a waitress brings by a drink so hopefully that will work out well for me in Vegas!

Thanks for all the ideas, we definitely want to do the Double Decker Bus tour. I didn't know of the conservatory at the Bellagio, so I'm going to look that up because I want to do it. Definitely want to see the fountains, thanks for the tip to not fight on the street! I also want to see that Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay...that's where my work conference is so I might be able to squeeze it in one of those days.

Now that I start hearing about stuff, there might be way too much stuff to fill up the short amount of time I will be there!

EXOTIC RACING!!! Get yourself behind the wheel of a Supercar and do some laps. Prices start at $199 for six laps in a Nissan GTR. Or spend more and get more like laps in the Lambo Aventador. Maybe the McLaren is more your style, they have the best of the best. Also recommend trying the Drifting Ride Along with a pro driver behind the wheel who will be trying to make you pee your pants! If you have a need for speed or just always dreamed of getting behind the wheel of a Supercar, here's your chance. Plus before you get on the track you can checkout and sit inside any of the cars. Did you say Aston Martin, Bond James Bond that is!
