We have very very very hard water where we live will that have an effect on the effectiveness of a clay bar treatment?

I don't think you'll have a problem if you mix it like the direction say. Normally you use 1 cap full of Z-7 to one gallon of water when you wash your car. directions say 1 cap full to 16/ounces of water when your claying, so I wouldn't think hard water would effect it. I've never used it like that, when claying I normally use straight detailer and do one section at a time. I just started with Zaino a few months back,, I've used Maguires for ever but zaino is the stuff. Good luck www.zainostore.com

Does anyone know how many car applications you can get out of one of the zaino car kits?

I have put about 13 coats on my Envoy ,9 on my mothers Xd,and 5 on my cousins CX7,and still have plenty of polish left to put about 12 coats on my Camaro when it comes in.When you polish with Zaino you have to use VERY thin coats.

I also use the Zaino car wash as the lubricant for the clay bar,and can do the entire car before having to wash it off.It doesn't leave ANY residue at all.

If you are going to polish the car i STONGLY recommend that you clay bar it first. If you do not get the rail dust and other contaminant's ,you run the risk of inducing swirl marks into the paint.

Procedure I used pretty much mimicked Zaino's directions. I washed the car with dawn soap. This removed any wax on the car, as well as most of the debris. You'll only do this step on your very first wash, never again. Then with the mix of z7 wash and water in a spray bottle I claybared the car, roughly doing it in 2'-2' sections. Like Nexus6 said, it left no residue, just a bunch of streaks. Once finished claying I washed the car with the z7 mix, came out perfectly clean. Don't forget to inspect your clay often, you'll be amazed by how much junk comes off the car when it looks pefectly clean.

Do you know if there are any special instructions when considering vinyl stripes? Should the stripes be put on prior to or after the first application?

Do the Zaino kits come with step by step directions for dummies, and when using the clay , what type of motion??
My IOM has some contaminate spots that didn't wipe clean with a wash...definitely something a little more than water spots, I wouldn't let the dealer wax the car and I don't want to leave this crud on the car too long.
I ordered the ultimate show car kit but don't wanna mess up the paint, this IOM seems like a color that you don't wanna make any mistakes with.
I've never done anything other than a wax a car...and I'm also hesitant about having someone else do this process to my car as well.

Thanks for any help guys

There are instructions for each product. In addition the website has a complete walk-through that should be very useful as well.

Try the following links:

That i am not sure about.i do know they are going to clean the parts where the vinyl will go.That being said i dont think it's a good idea to have polish UNDER the vinyl stripes, but that is just a guess.I'm going to assume its the same as the clear bra.If you do decide to do it you may have to re-do it cause i dont know what the installer is going to use to clean the surface.

Zaino Z2 and Z5 are polymer based finishes that replace waxing your car. You get much better protection from them, and once you're used to the system its just as fast, assuming you use ZFX. A wax based system simply would not perform as well as the products they do offer and would not fit into Zaino's offering anyways.
