Will tuning out the AFM eliminate the engines ability to go to less than 8cyl?

So if I tune out the afm on the l99 will my car run on 8 cylinders all the time?

Also what would be the benefit of tuning out dod?

Yes. It will run only on 8 Cylinders.

Benefit: You don't hear AFM kicking in.

This is from my understanding of AFM.

You can also tune it to only be active say above 60mph... so you still have it on highway trips to save gas.

When you put on LT Headers it's a good idea to tune out DOD completely because the drone gets much worse. Pretty much just the noise that drives people crazy when it goes to 4 cyl mode.

He asked about both DOD and AFM here. I wanted to make sure he knew both were the same.
