Urgent! Oil Change Help Please

I've just got done draining my vehicle and changed the oil for the fourth time... but this time im freaking out a little bit. When i transfered the old oil into the old oil bottle I noticed I didn't have nearly enough oil in the catcher than I should of.. I only had a little less than four quarts... well I'm guess either the four quarts leaked or im screwed... cause I put eight quarts on top of the four that were still some how in the engine.

Well I freaked and decided I'm going to empty the oil and re do my oil change.. so I take the oil plug off... and nothing came out?...WTF? where the hell is the oil? Is my oil pump shot? is there a clog somewhere? Im baffled and freaking out.

Any help asap would be very much appreciated....

How much oil is the dipstick showing.

Are you sure you took off the engine drain plug and not the transmission?

stick a small screwdriver in the hole, must be something there blocking it from draining.

Dude. The dipstick goes right into the oil pan where your plug is at. Make sure you are removing the oil pan drain plug and remove the oil fill cap.

Try taking off the oil fill cap, it might be creating a vacuum. I'm sure you thought of this but just throwing it out there.

Edit: I see others posted the same thing as I was typing.

I'm with ya. I'm really trying to be nice. I have had a backlash of meanness lately due to my sarcasm that is hard to see behind a screen.

But, yes. It is hard to mess up an oil change.

The engine is vented through the pcv, there isn't that much vacuum that would be holding oil up. I've drained thousands of engines without taking the cap off. Something must be blocking the drain hole. Poke a screwdriver in there and see what pops out.

Assuming your taking the right plug out and didn't actually drain the transmission.

wow.. yall can be mean, as I am to be known as the guy that drained my tranny fluid..twice... maybe I should start letting the pros change my oil. I can install a CAI, borla exhaust, but I cant seem to drain the right fluid. Thanks for your help.. hopefully I didnt' mess up my engine by starting the car with 16 qaurts of oil in the car. FML
