Dealer ordered the wrong car!!!

I got a call from my dealer on Tuesday telling me that my car (SIM 2LtRS) would be here next week. I got a call from my dealer today telling me that a mistake was made and my order was excepted before they had input all of the choices, therefore, they built a SIM 1LT with LP black stripes with cloth interior instead of the SIM 2LT RS with leather interior that I had orderd.

The dealer then tells me that they are out of allocations.

So here is my dillema.

1.)Do I just suck it up and take the car that was built, because the wrong Camaro is better than no Camaro at all?

2.)Can you modify a vehicle to add the RS package aftermarket?

3.)Can you modify a 1LT and make it a 2LT aftermarket?

4.)What are LP Stripes?

Any info or advise would greatly be appreciated. I have been waiting on this car since the first week of November. Soooooo frustrated.

Please don't flame me if questions like this have allready been posted in another thread, I am upset enough. I dream about my car every night.

1. You may want to find another dealer and order through them. Otherwise, you may be able to find a car with your configuration somewhere in the nation.
2. Not really. It wouldn't be a true RS and you'd probably be missing the halo switch.
3. I would imagine this would be expensive. Maybe I'm wrong.
4. My guess is that LP stripes would be the Rally Stripes, but I don't really know.

IMO,

You have waited this long and you should wait for the 2LT. I have the 2LT and trust me you want all the extra's the 2SS has. Leather Seats, Blue Tooth(up to 6 phones) and of course the 9 speaker Boss Acoustic system. It will be worth the wait. I got the sunroof as well and I am not sure if that is stock with the 2LT's. You won't be dissapointed. I live in the Bay Area (CA) and have had my Camaro since early June and still have not seen another one on the road yet. So, yes you will still get all the attention (wanted or unwanted) when you get yours. Good Luck and Congrats!

This is really a sorry deal man, but I would go looking for a reputable dealer selling at MSRP and carefully order another one. Or do a vehicle search for one. Gotta have the RS package. Feel for you brother, we ordered in October and she is still sitting in the KC rail yard.

Get your deposit back and go to another dealer. A variety of dealers have been getting 2nd rounds of allocation for about a month now. DO NOT settle for what you don't want.

p.s. NO WAY to aftermarket the RS package correctly. my .02

I would find another dealer. Get the car YOU want. If it is your dream car like mine is, settle for nothing less....

I agree with everyone else, find another dealer and re-order. If this would have happened to me, I would re-order and get my deposit back. I would not be happy with a 1 LT if I wanted a 2 LT.

There are a bunch of SIM 2LTs (all automatics- don't know what you ordered) that have been made in the past couple weeks. None on your doorstep but 2 in Utah, 3 in Texas, 5 in California, 1 in Arizona, 1 in Wisconsin, 1 in Washington... They're all only a plane ride away if one fits your needs and of course, the dealer isn't marking it up $10k...

Just a thought.

I would re-order.

Your dealer could easily get another allocation awarded if they are willing to put in the effort. Mine did... and my car was built 23 days after they submitted it.

I struggled with the decision myself, but in the end I want what I ordered. Don't settle because of something "someone" else did.

Second, do not settle! You will regret it after the newness wares off. Just find another dealer and get what you want.

Since there was an error when the car was ordered, the dealer can fast track a replacement order. I have read on one these threads basically the situation, the guy got the correct car in about 4 weeks or less. So it can be done if the dealer wants to help you.

and just to make sure the dealer is not pulling a fast one on you....ask the dealer to show you the work bench history and you can verify your original order number carries the VIN on the 1LT they are telling you is your car. Who knows, maybe someone with a better offer wanted the same exact car as you ordered......
