Lowering the convertible top...

Without the trunk partition extended. So, has anyone figured out how to lower the top without having the partition extended into the brackets? It seems so silly to have to have the partition extended.

Nope. But it wouldn't seem silly the day you forget you left something in the trunk that was too big for the top to go down and....crunch. It doesn't take up too much space and I like how it defines where stuff can fit.

Yep. If I recall correctly, simply unplugging it does the trick.

But if you don't have a habit of having something in the way of the top, it doesn't seem to be a big deal to just leave it extended.

I don't think I would ever leave anything in there myself, but if I did forget, the result can be a broken Window or worse. I like the added assurance.

Yeah I agree with this safety feature.....big bucks if you forget and it breaks.

I did a search and couldn't find anything. Anymore info you can give me on unplugging it? I never leave anything in the trunk, so it's not an issue for me.

I leave mine extended unless I have to put something in that won't fit without retracting it. Then when I get home I extend it again.
Like others said its a small price to pay to insure you don't lower the top with something in the way. To me it's no big deal to work around.

I found it in a mod section or something. But if you look at the part that rolls up the screen, on one side it should have some wires. I think just 2 and they go to a clip not far under the carpet. At least that is what I remember reading.

I find the trunk partition net very handy for storing flat items I don't want sliding around in the trunk.
However, my wife says it limits the number of mulch bags she can fit in the trunk at Home Depot.
Especially if they are soaking wet.

Lol, silly girl. They don't go in the trunk. They get stacked in the back seat when top is down!
