The higher rating will do nothing for performance. There have been no changes to the engine, it is just rated higher. The 2010's aperently also made 312 hp

I Agree. I read the original post as "We were just kidding about the 304 hp. It's really been 312 hp all along but we just now got around to certifying it (after we found out what the Mustang v6 would be putting out).

It sounds like you need some time designing and building cars before you can make such an assertion. They are not resting. They are working...and there are a TON of things to work on besides an already stupid-fast SS Camaro. It's still leading the segment in sales, so I would argue that anything needs to be done. And focusing their efforts elsewhere (Convertible, maybe a Z28) is hardly 'stupid', imo.

Okay that's what I thought... So basically it means nothing hahaha. The Mustang V6 will still be loads faster.

COMPLETE?? I said CAI and/or a Gear (3.73) and/or sways..not that hard or complicated

Mustang has been complacent for years now, without any major improvements for one reason: CAMARO WASN'T AROUND to keep Ford on their toes

Now they panic, make a move, and Mustang is back in the running. Maybe next year we'll see some more power in the Camaro SS, but give GM a second to respond! Mustang's numbers were only recently released- it would've taken an act of God to revamp Camaro in time for this press release. However, GM- next year I DO expect to see Camaro putting down much better numbers than the Rustang!

Again, product is King!! or so they say!!!

Have faith, I doubt GM will let go of the top slot so easily...
A small improvement, even a tune, would have kept them in the Game!!

You also have to realize that GM sells more than just Camaro's. Perhaps, just perhaps, since the Camaro has proven itself as a strong seller since its release, GM felt that its resources could be better spent trying to improve other vehicles in their lineup that need updates to regain sales rather than spending in inordinate amount of time trying to stroke the ego's of a small portion if their total market.

Uh What "Major Changes" were made to the 2011 mustang to make it look different from the 2010? All the pictures I have seen they look Identical...

The only thing Ford has done was put the new body out before they had the 5.0 which btw if I had bought one this year I would be mad as hell.

I wasn't talking about looks. I might have misunderstood the post that I quoted when I made that reply. If I did misunderstand the post I am sorry.

I was just mainly saying the stang was getting new engines and transmissions. along with further suspension tweaking.

I'm not buying a muscle car for all the new gadgets and bells. I want it for the plain fact it's a Camaro, it's american muscle, and it's back! If I get the urge for "Push to Start", or anything else, I can walk out in the lot and play with the Audis and BMWs I work around every day. My Camaro will be my grounding point

True the Mustang is still faster. I was referring to the big deal that writers were making in articles about the Mustang having an extra 1 horsepower and 7 lb ft of torque over the Camaro. And for the record I have gotten over 30 mpg on trips on the highway in my 2010 Camaro.

The SS is already a borderline gas guzzler. Give it virtually anymore fuel(tune) or gear and it will get hit with a $1000 tax. Neither will happen on the LS3/L99 engine.
