2014 2SS A/C not working properly

Note: if this is the wrong section, please accept my apologies, as this is general SS stuff.

When I had my 2012 2LT, the AC was OK at best. It did the trick, and kept me somewhat cool. My new SS won't even get cold. at night, if I put it on, it will work ok, and get cool in the car, but in the daytime (27-30 degrees C) it will not even cool me down. If I close all the vents except the 2 drivers ones, put it on upper blower only, and go to 12 on the fan, it is just barely cool on the face. This was from the factory this way. If I need a recharge in the system, would that be covered under warrantee, or is that a "wear and tear" item? any help would be appreciated.

If it hasn't worked from the onset, it should be a warranty issue. I can't imagine wear and tear is an applicable argument for any vehicle less than a year old.

Definitely an issue, my 2014 gets frigid on way less than 12 and it's hotter here than in Canada.

It's warranted for 3 years or 36000 miles. Or whatever your basic bumper to bumper warranty says.
For what it's worth both my 2010 and my 2012 will freeze you out on max recirculation... Take it in.

If it is an issue with the AC it will almost certainly be covered by warranty. GMs warranty is really good and covers a lot. I got my DRLs changed under warranty when they burnt out after a year.

Damn, both of your DRL's only lasted a year? I'll keep turning ours off unless it's foul weather. Anyway to the OP, You should be covered no problem to get your a/c working . Maybe just as simple as an undercharged unit from factory.

Yeah, I don't know if I got a bad batch of lights or if something with the circuitry went bad. At 20,000 km the passenger side burnt out, a week after that the drivers side burnt out as well. Here in Canada we are legally required to have DRLs so we can't actually turn them off. Flicking the light switch to the left doesn't do anything on the Canadian models. The only time the DRLs are off are if the halos or HIDs are on.

A/C

I had the same symptom on my 2013 1LE.
The dealer had a few Camaros with this complaint.
They felt the refrigerant was too full from
the factory. They removed an appropriate amount and the
car will now freeze you out!
It was filled to the factory specs so they opened an issue
with the plant. Dealer felt the specs were set incorrectly.

Had mine for a couple weeks and the ac started blowing warm, took it it and they found a bad connection on the compressor not allowing it to turn on.

Take it in, they will make it right!

Yes, the AC button is on. I have tried with and without recirculate on, and both are bad. Ok, thanks a bunch for the help guys. Will be taking it in this weekend.

Try to switch the AC button off and then on while the fan is working.

It happens sometimes with me. It seems that the AC is not engaging immediately but it works afterwards.

But the weather here can kill any AC system on this planet in the first week of June !!
