Do cops pull you over because you drive a Camaro?

Do cops pull you over more because of your car, or the way you drive it?

This.... Same for me got one speeding ticket in it so far but the cop went really easy on me with the fine. I find as long as I am polite & respectful they will always go easy on me.

Cops pulling you over because you drive a certain vehicle is a myth. The only way it is not a myth, is if you decide to break more laws in your Camaro than your other car. Then yes, you will get pulled over in the Camaro more often.

Honestly this post reeks of a spoiled 17 year old that just got busted doing things he should not have been doing and is now pouting about it and trying to lay the blame on cops picking on him.

Here is an idea, how about paying your fines, and keeping your car legal from now on. That way, no more trouble!

I'm 18 and the only ticket/time I was pulled over was for speed.
Usually when I see the cops I just and lower my music if it's on.
Camaros aren't extremely rare where I live so for a cop to pull one over for something small would be a waste of his/her time. I do, however, try to do everything possible to avoid getting tickets in the first place. I would love to have red halos/no license plate/ no mufflers but I'm pretty sure it's illegal

I'm 42 years old. Started driving my '69 at 16... I was pulled over on a regular basis.

Since I garaged my '69 I have owned an EVO 9, the '10 SS/RS and now the ZL1. I have not been pulled over in 15+ years. I jokingly race cops whenever they are near, they just give me the "your an idiot" look.

I think the thing that is hardest to get used to, is that most of the cops are now younger than me, and don't give a rats ass about me or my car.

8 times in 2 years....
I haven't been pulled over but 2 times in 44 years driving....
First make your car legal. Second obey traffic laws and I bet they leave you alone.

Pulled over once for rolling a stop sign and I only got a warning.

I was in the wrong.

The Camaro didn't make me do it and I'm sure if I had been in my winter beater at the time I still would have been pulled over.

Nope. I'm 19. Just use common sense and they won't even look twice. Unless your car is stupid loud like mine, but even in that case just cruise by at the lowest RPM's possible and turn your system way down and you're good to go.

I've gotten one speeding ticket in my 3 years of ownership and yet I drive the thing exactly as my age would suggest.

So.... why are you complaining about getting pulled for rolling through a stop sign when red halos, no front tag, tag cover will get you pulled as well? As Angry Bird mentioned.... you've been pulled 8 times in 2 years? I been pulled maybe 5 times my entire life, and I'm 43. If you're fessing up to getting pulled over 8 times in 2 years you have no real credibility.

Well,I got pulled over for the first time ever in either of my Camaros . Driving down by the lake, and I saw the dude when I passed him . I was doing the limit,i knew he was going to pull me over. He pulled out right after I drove by. Followed my ass for 1/2 a mile then lit me up. Gave me shit about my tint (20%). Talked to me like I was criminal #1 for daring to have tint in HIS state. Dub ass never noticed (at least didn't ticket) me for NO front plate . Whatever . Mailed in my guilty plea. Who cares about the fine. The town I was pulled over in is hard up for $$$,even more so since the large mall closed up due to gang activity scaring patrons away. It's just a $$ grab, especially up by the lake when the weather is nice.

8 times in two years is extremely excessive. Especially since you've barely had your license. In MA any ticket while under 18 and your license is gone for 6 months, no excuses. I'd consider yourself lucky if anything. And I'd put money on you rolling through the stop sign judging by your attitude.

I think an important thing to keep in mind is all the little stuff u got nailed for on a guys Sunday drive car isn't a huge deal because the car isn't on the road as much. But when you daily drive your camaro with that stuff it's got a way bigger chance of getting seen by the cops and drawing unwanted attention. Guys will say I never have trouble with window tint etc, etc but if you drive your car for an hour one day a week chances of seeing a cop are way lower than if you're like me and you're in it everyday.
