Im glad I did not wait for this feature. I was expecting a much larger display. That tiny little graphic IMHO is not worth it. Is it really that much harder to glance down at the Driver Information screen between the gauges??

I think the HUD system should be re-designed to cover a larger span of the windshield. Maybe it's just because I'm a product of the digital age..... and i'm used to info displays from a variety of racing video games....... but sorry, I'm not impressed.

Yes it does. I work at a glass company and many many years ago we tried it on a grand prix and no go. There is a filament in the glass that projects it And GM was way ahead of there time on this all the other auto makers had a little 3x3 or so square in the window that you could see and it looked like sh**.

NICE!

I think the camera position has a lot to do with it looking small, the camera was in front of the steering wheel. IF you are looking at it from where your head actually is during driving, it probably is a little bigger and more readable. I've never looked at one in real life before and just my thoughts. Plus they really cant put a huge projection up there and potentially block your view of the road.

With all due respect..a large display? Would that not defeat the whole entire purpose. I agree it is def not a "need", but something cool to have. No one said it was hard to look down...I don't see a purpose in the HUD excluding MPH, nor would I drive this car off the road into a blaze of flames without it. You are arguing you want a larger display (which I can only assume meaning more information) but you also don't see need for it? Did you just mean the text should be larger? This cell phone pic does not do justice to the size. While it is not "large", the size is fine when you see it in person.

I don't really understand why people find cost as an issue. The cost of the vehicle increased only 350 dollars, and in all likelihood we would have seen an increase eventually regardless. I can't remember the last time a vehicle did not increase slightly in cost from one production year to the next production year...and that was with no additions. This HUD is not much different from the vettes...and we won't see some futuristic, pilot HUD before the vette does.

The day you see a Gran Turismo mega HUD across your windshield is the day you no longer control the vehicle...

NOT EXACTLY TRUE. I HAVE REPLACED WINDSHIELDS FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE HUD, AND COULD NOT AFFORD THE HUD GLASS. (why do i have the caps on?) in any case i installed the non hud glass in the hud cars and it worked fine. now i dont know if this is the case for all hud cars, but i do know on pontiacs, buicks, and cadillacs it works.

This is true it still works but the display is not as clear if it doesn't have the proper windshield installed. I have seen HUD systems added to C5 corvettes that did not originally have one and they do not look as good because of the windshield not being changed. There is a reason for the proper glass

It not a matter of being lazy, it’s the fact you never have to take your eyes off the road when checking your gauges if you track or road race for one. It is also nice just for driving on the street to keep up with radio stations and other information so you don’t have to look down at the console or dash. I have a C5 Corvette and it's a nice add to the car, once you own one with it you miss having it when you drive another car without HUD
